Surprise at Macy's

I started this diet not quite fitting into my 44 pants. I even had a couple of expandable waist pants. Yesterday I order some pants from Lands End, size 40. They're back ordered so I went to Macy's today. I tried on the 40s and they were huge. Even the 38s were comfortably loose. I got pretty excited. I walked out of Macy's with 4 pairs of pants and 2 pairs of shorts.
