Feeling Dizzy at gym

Yesterday evening I went to the gym, I managed my Warm up, my Bosu Jump Squats and then a Short walk on the treadmill (which should have been a run) until I had to stop due to feeling dizzy, sick and everything felt really bright. I didn't sleep too well either last night and now today I've woken up feeling rubbish. Has anyone else experienced this? I am thinking maybe I have a cold or something but I've always managed to work out before with a cold.

water - water - water -water!
It could be dehydration but get checked out by the doctor if it happens again.0 -
When I used to go to the gym I wne ton the treadmill once and I was so sick and dizzy when I got off it was horrible ,I told the trainer and she said I must have got off it to quickly but I slowed it right down and waited for a couple of mins ,needless to say havent been back on it lol .
Someone told me (dont know if its true) it can have something to do with inner ear problems and I am the type who can watch kids on the swings and feel sea sick hahahha .0 -

See I wondered that because It started after the Bosu squats which involves throughing myself forward and upwards. Can that make you feel really rubbish?0 -
Ive had it once, but it was when i was tired and didnt sleep to way the night before. Hasnt happened since. So it can just be related to being tired and being a little under the weather. The fact that you managed to work out before with a cold doesnt mean you can every time.
Give your body some rest and do some light excersize untill you feel up for the real thing again0 -
I get dizzy a lot too. I think most of it is due to what you ate, or what you lacked eating before working out. You may just have gotten a good enough workout in that you depleted your glycogen stores. When I do fasted cardio, I can get dizzy, and Usually if I've gone over my 1 hour limit on weight training I also get a little dizzy, sometimes nauseous.
If I do cardio at night, especially a high impact cardio, I have a hard time getting to sleep. That 's one reason I prefer doing cardio in the morning. Proper sleep is as important to weight loss as exercise, unfortunately, that is one area that I struggle with due to my work schedule.0 -
thanks, that's some great advice. I think i'll take it easy today, with maybe a light work out on the Kinect then get back to the gym tomorrow.0

It could be low sugar, too. That can make you feel dizzy and strange. Take a banana with you or a nice sweet, but healthy snack.0

It could just be a cold or other illness. I had a dizziness problem that came about when I was at the gym. Heat more than the gym seemed to bring it on, as the dizziness was recurring in showers and whatnot. It lasted about a week and I've been fine since.0

I'd recommend checking with your doctor. It can be anything from a common cold, to an inner ear infection, to hypoglycemia (low blood sugar from lack of eating prior to and exercise lowering blood sugar naturally), to low blood pressure, to high blood pressure, to neurocardiogenic syncope, etc. Generally speaking, if I have a client or someone in the gym who gets dizzy, I ask them what they've eaten and when and start with a sugary drink (usually orange juice) to get the blood sugar back up if they didn't eat before working out. Regardless of whether the juice helps, I always refer to a doctor because you shouldn't be dizzy from exercise.0

Thanks everyone, I'm feeling much better now. I am just tired, which I think is due to not sleeping too well. I will visit my GP if I feel this way again. I don't think it was to do with not eating as I had had my dinner about an hour prior to exercising. Which has never seemed to cause me problems before.
I am going to attempt some light cardio on the Kinect today to see if this has any effect.0
