Ok, Now I know this is a silly problem to have. One I will welcome because it means I am having success at losing weight. However I need help with clothes.

We are going to Disney World in FL mid September. Now, if I lose my goal at 2 lb a week I should lose 24 more lbs by then (32 total with my loss so far) So, that is definately a smaller size. I will need summer attire while we are there. But, I live in IA and they start pulling out winter clothes in July. By August, it's slim pickings through the clearance racks. So, if I wait till I am closer to my size then I will not have anything to shop from. I am one who needs to try it before I buy it, so have never bought online. But, it I buy next month, I would still possibly go down in size in the last 2 months. What to do?

Should I buy in July, but buy too small by a size? Or will this be tempting fate? If I don't go down in size I would still be without .
Worst case I would have to SHOP from the airport in Orlando or at Disney since we won't have a car. This would be a very expensive option to buy a weeks worth of clothes since things cost more at the airport or disney. And don't want to get a few things & have to do laundry on vaca... Yuck. :grumble:

Any suggestions?

BYW - it's nice to worry about these things

  • I say shop in July. It will give more drive to fit into the clothing. And hang them were you can see them so you not tempted to give up, eat unheathly foods, or miss exercising.

I live close to Orlando. Just wait until you get here. Plan your time so you have an afternoon to go to the outlet mall in Orlando. Easy to find, there are ads for it in every tourist magazine and coupon book out there, and there ARE a bunch of them! Also gives you time to save some money between now and then, unless of course you are independently wealthy. In that case, buy a summer wardrobe now and if they don't fit by the time you leave, just buy another wardrobe ;)

We won't have a car... and there is no pulling me away from the Disney Magic:laugh: I may need to see how close one is to WDW & see how much a cab would cost. May take a cab or car service from airport to mall, then to disney vs taking disney transportation from airport to the world.

It depends a little bit on how long your vacation is going to be. If you're going for 3 days or so, I would shop in July and get shorts with belt loops and add a few cute belts. (I have to wash clothes before I wear them, so I couldn't buy all my clothes on vacation unless there was a washer & dryer available.) While there are a ton of outlet stores in the Orlando area, it depends on how much extra time you'd have to go shopping. If you're going to be there for a week, you could probably spend a few hours the 1st day and get some shopping done. Many hotels have rental car desks in the lobby and you could rent a cheap car for a day. Or take a taxi. I don't think it would cost too much. Your hotel may also be able to tell you what type of stores are nearby.

Ejoy your vacation and Have a Magical Day!!

My boyfriend and I have been shopping at value village, goodwill and second hand stores right now. Lots of variety and cheap!! I would prefer shopping at higher end stores but honestly when your losing weight and in my boyfriends case he's dropping pant sizes every 2 wks, can't afford to keep buying stuff at retail prices.

Perhaps you could do the same? buy a couple things from there and a couple from a retail store? or buy all from the second hand stores and save money for trip and buying a shirt from the magical world of Disney.
