I just went shopping for something new to wear golfing tomorrow because my maternity clothes (my baby is 4 weeks old) are too big and my old clothes are too small. I have gone up at least 4 sizes!!!! I was an 8-10 now I'm closer to a 14-16. Now am I supposed to be motivated or so depressed I eat a 2 liter of strawberry ice cream by myself??......Good thing we have no ice cream in the house.

Four weeks is such a short time....you can't expect to be back in shape already. Geez....I still looked a litle pregnant for a while after birth.

I would stick with your maternity clothes for a bit, even if they are big, and give yourself some more time to lose some of the baby weight!

Focus on your new addition instead...that would cheer anyone up!

    Hi

    I hear ya..been there
I know it's easier said than done, but try to be patient..your baby is SO young
When I had #2 I was an 8/10 before getting pg...
I had to buy something to wear to my 6-8 week check-up at the obgyn and had to buy a size 14....
I lost 30 pounds since being hear from Jan-May....so you can do it
Don't sabotage yourself..if you eat right and work out..the weight will come off

    ((HUGS))
    Good luck, Kim

Can I ask if you are breastfeeding?
When I had my son I was a size 14 (after I'd had him that is) but with breastfeeding it literally fell off of me...I went from 202 lbs to 179 in a very short amount of time...
    Good luck!
    Don't sabotage yourself!!
    You can do it!
4 weeks is SUCH a short period of time....goodness it takes time for your uterus to shrink even!!
  • I totally feel ya hun. Remember no matter how tired you are don't give up exercise, exercise, exercise. I wish I would have. I was down 25lbs by 4 weeks but I am still an size 16 and I was a thin 10/12 before. My daughter will be 14 months on the 1st.

I am just now losing my baby fat....Oh did I mention she is 21!!

Seriously though, you are in the right place! You have decided to take control so you are on your way.

Having babies is the BEST part of life. Dont ruin your experience with worring so much about your weight.

remember the changes you are making are for your entire family. If you feed them with good healthy food, they will grow up and choose good healthy food.

{{{ hugs}}} I know it is hard. BUT YOU CAN DO IT!

    And }} drop the strawberry icecream before someone gets hurt{{{{

  • I wish I was breastfeeding, I've seen the wonders that can do. Unfortunately was not able to with any of my kids; there is no real reason, I just did not produce any milk. I am feeling better today though.I played 18 holes of golf on Saturday and have no sore muscles, so I guess I'm not in as bad a shape as I thought.
  • Thanks for the support cwilson715. I just wanted to say that I love the pic of your little one, I have one almost identical to that of my daughter at about the same age.

You had a baby only four weeks ago! Even Jessica Alba needed more than four weeks...that is isn't very helpful isn't it?

Maybe a little pampering would make you feel better? Sometimes are mani and pedi makes me feel 100% better.

Nine months on, nine months off. I found that to be true. Had the same thing happen, exact same sizes too. Nine months to the day I had prepreg weight, but was still a size up. Wish I'd known about this site then...
