Green smoothie inquiry

Does anyone get slightly nauseated and or really nauseated depending on the day, and VERY gassy ? Admittedly, i had my gallbladder out and things have never been the same for 2 years now. I can barely tolerate anything heavy or fatty or from the cabbage/gassy family, BUT I just had such a light smoothie and my body is so flatulent Also, i suffer from acid reflux, which the fruit exacerbates, but i'm working on it. Sigh. Stress. Consistency of smoothie: Small handful of strawberries, about 15 frozen raspberries, 1 medium banana, 1 cup of organic spinach leaves, raw, and 1/2 cup water.

Interestingly enough, when they botched my gallbladder removal and I was on bedrest for two months while my body healed itself, green smoothies were a staple for me. My digestion is all wonky post surgery as well. Sometimes bananas throw me through a tizzy. Maybe you can try an avocado for that nice creamy smooth texture instead of banana? Works for me, and it's wicked delicious!0

ooh, also, try adding in some ginger....either grate about a tsp of it into the smoothie, or if you have a juicer, juice the ginger and add about 1/2 tsp of the extracted juice to your smoothie. Ginger is great for gastro issues, and it adds a really nice zing to the flavor of your smoothie. You can also try throwing in some pineapple, which aids in digestion as well
mmmmm, i know what my afternoon snack is going to be. thanks for posting!0 -
Green smoothies don't bother me, but eggs and egg whites sure do!! My hubby can hardly stand to be around me after I eat eggs for breakfast and it last for 2-3days! I love me some egg/egg white omlets, but it isn't worth it to me most of the time... Thank goodness I workout at home... I would run some people out if the gym on the days I just have to have one!0

Hey, i've had ginger for pain relief before, boiled it fresh and mixedi t with water and it was too spicy for me. I bought pineapple to try out in my smoothie and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the tip
Haha Gina, i know it too well and workout in a SMALL gym usually full of people. I hate worrying i'm gonna let one go, but then again it'll get me a spot on the machines i never get0
