Where should I travel next month?

I want to take a trip next month (July) with my boyfriend. We've been together for 5.5 years so it'll be a celebration of our relationship, but also a celebration of my weight loss so far! By then I want to have lost at least 15 lbs!

Only problem is, we're having a hard time deciding where to go. We want to travel as cheap as possible, and we'd be leaving from NY. Do you have some suggestions for places we can fly to that won't break the budget? We are open to anything really, but I'm leaning towards a beach vacation! :glasses:

Any suggestions?

    Martha's Vineyard or Newport Beach are good options

    Good suggestions! However my boyfriend and I spent most of last summer working on the Vineyard, so we want someplace new. We've never been to Newport Beach so we'll keep that in mind!

    I've ALWAYS wanted to go to Thailand! But we only have about a week to ten days to travel so probably not enough time to go all the way to Thailand. :ohwell:

    you can usually get cheap prices to the bahamas or mexico...warm sandy beaches tropical drinks and beautiful women!!! oh wait I mean men for you!!!

    I've heard the french quarter in montreal is beautiful :) I have heard great things about virginia beach! haha sorry I can't give better advice. Seattle is pretty awesome too ;D

    also take a look at travelzoo.com and bing travel. They have "where should I go" areas that tell you the cheapest places to go from where you are :)

    Mexico or Dominican Republic. Cheap and lovely beaches.

    Tulum, Mexico.

    Beautiful and not as touristy as a lot of the beaches in Mexico. And very romantic. We went there for our honeymoon earlier this year -- now I am obsessed with the place.

    Thanks for all of the suggestions so far! Please keep them coming. We're going to book this on Monday or Tuesday and we still don't know where we're going, but right now we're leaning towards St Thomas or St John in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

    Anybody been to either or both?
