Hi all...Friday I have to leave town to drive to an our of town wedding. We will be leaving midday right after work and I'll need to get lunch. What are some ideas for quick food that aren't terrible for you? Making food isn't really practical. Oh, to make it harder I am not eating bread products or dairy this week.

Thank you!!!

That is tough...not sure where you are, but you could get a burrito bowl or something like that to eat. Moe's Southwest Grill, Chipotle, Qdoba, any of those places.

If you can try to pack some good snacks this why while your driving you can have a snack so when you do stop for "fast food" your not tempted to over eat, like a cooler with some fruit or you could bring celeary and peanut butter. And when you stop to eat try to pick places that have choices, like KFC, you can get the grilled chicken, mcdonalds has salads or even grilled chicken sandwiches, you can ask for no mayo and if you not eating bread take off the bun, just dont get the fries, you can apple fries. Hope that helps

You could always get a fast food salad... although not easy or recommended to eat WHILE driving! but yes, snacks are a good idea to help not OVER eat while having to eat out... granola bars, bananas

Whole foods has a decent to go section. You could grab something there. If you pick something vegan you likely won't have any bread or dairy. Other options would be their salad bar which is pretty intensive or their soups. You can also grab some fruit while there.
  • Can you bring a cooler? That's a temporary cold food fix. If you get cold items/things that need to be kept fresh at a grocery store or convenience store or leftovers, you could put them in there. And all hotels have ice machines. Is there a Wegman's where you're going? I don't have one where I live but it is my dream grocery store! So many choices! I'm not sure how that fares with this lifestyle change, though. They just have a lot of prepared foods and decent prices.
