As most of you have probably read/heard/seen on the televsion and papers there's alot going around about e-coli and salads. I'm going on holiday on mnday and really want to use the holiday as a way of helping myself lose weight but i'm worried about eating salads. Would people advice me to stay away or go for it?

I say go for it. Your chances are slim of having a contaminated salad. Just go to reputable restaurants! Have a look at Yelp before you go to a place and check out the reviews.

Where are you going? I travel quite a lot & my rule of thumb is, can I drink the tap water? If not then it's better to give salad & uncooked veggies & fruit that I can not peel a miss.

Go with it, just make sure if you buy any fresh produce that you wash it off really well. And anything that you can peel will help too, like peel your apple or peel potatoes, this is just an extra precaution.

Are you going to Germany? they have already found the source of e. coli and it is bean sprouts from one particular farm. I doubt you'll be in danger.

    Bwaaaaa....

I've received no less than 3 emails and phone calls from my mother about this because I'm going to Denmark next week on business.

Yes, mother, I'll avoid the bean sprouts. Thank you AGAIN for telling me...
