Good news and bad news

The good news is that I have not regained any significant weight but I have been extremely frustrated that my rate of weight loss has slowed so much. I have never gone below 1200 calories per day but have been eating less and less of my exercise calories in a futile effort to lose more weight.

The bad news is that I have lost muscle mass. I went in for a wellness evaluation last week and discovered that according to the "Bod Pod" I have lost about 4 kg of muscle mass in the past 9 months. It is not that I have been inactive, but an injury stopped me from doing weight training and I have had a flare of arthritis in the past 3 months.

After the evaluation, I was told that I have probably been eating too little - the MFP tools estimate my BMR as 1367 calories but after my exercise test and other tests I was told my BMR is over 1600 calories!!

We will see what happens if I eat more of my exercise calories.... Wish me luck, everyone!

Good luck! I was told that the closer you get to your goal the closer you have to eat to your bmr in order to continue losing weight. Sounds like an oxymoron. On the plus side you've already lost so much weight and you've kept it off. That's fantastic! Good luck losing the rest.
