So I run into the issue of being picky.

I try to make good choices on what to eat but I don't like a lot of the stuff that is good for you!

I hate fish, onions, tomatoes, peppers, olives, most lettuce. I'm not a huge vegetable fan.

I love Chicken, Beef, Pork, Corn, Potatos, Green Beans, Carrots and Broccoli are a food I have to be in the mood for.

So any suggestions as to good choices I can make with stuff I will eat?

I appreciate the help! :)

I have vegetable issues as well. I like green beans..... Anyway, I talked to my doctor about it(3 different doctors) and the answer I got was as long as I eat a variety of fruits, lots of colors, I don't need to worry about the veggies.

Oh, and don't do potatoes and corn in the same meal...too much starch to digest...turns to sugar!

I hate green veggies EXCEPT salad and cooked spinach. I despise cut onions or green pepper.
Whatever you DO like, use it. Measure it out. Simple really. You can experiment with a friend one day. Have a bite of theirs, etc.

Or you could hide the damn green stuff in something else and you won't know it's there......

The V-8 Fusions are great! Full serving of fruit and full serving of veggies in 8 oz!

I like Romaine lettuce as long as the hard stalk is picked out....and about the only dressing I like is Italian so I know I could use some lettuce chicken, cheese, dressing for a meal.

I am just afraid for my life to eat at my boyfriends place...His mom has a touch of a hoarding issue and there are eggs in the fridge from January and a bottle of salad dressing I grabbed the other day was open and expired in 2008...We cleaned the cupboard the other day and found a can of beans that expired in 1964 and she told us to just put them back in the cupboard. :noway:

I start work on the 28th and will have some money to actually buy food so I know its not bad or expired. And I'll have the ability to buy fresh fruit

I 'm a picky eater too and I don't make myself eat anything I don't like, even if it is good for me. I suggest you don't either, what is the point. Dieting is challenging enough without giving up calories for something you don't want to eat. If you are concerned about health wise figure out what you are missing out on and get a vitamin supplement.

Oh yea and then a can of refried beans from March of 1989 my boyfriend was like MOM these are 5 months older than me why can't I throw them a way...LOL

The amount of crap in the house amazes me...The newest carton of eggs are from April...eww They only have a 45 day shelf life after they are laid...

My doctor used to give me prenatals since they are free but I called to have my perscription renewed and they never did it...urg

SOOO Picky! I have an anxiety with trying new foods. So I am just trying to focus on getting enough protein and staying in my calorie limit and working out of course! I posted a topic like this a while back and got a bunch of suggests about hiding vegetables into food but I don't think I could do that. Maybe if someone did that with some food I like then that would be a great surprise. I try to do smoothies that I like and eat the veggies I like: carrots and some lettuce.

I don't like sandwiches of any kind so it's hard to figure out lunches without buying stuff, so I am getting use to the whole low calorie lunch. Let me know if you every want to talk about trying to figure out something to eat.
