they ALL fit?!

My son is 4. When he was still in a carrier I had bought a pair of jeans as a goal weight. Those jeans taunted me until about 2 months ago. I was thrilled they fit at a size 22.
The other day I put them on and had to keep pulling them up. I caught a glance in a window and realized they now look terrible because they are too big. I went to change and for fun decided to try on a pair of trouser jeans that I bought on sale in March. They are a size 18. I wanted to see how close I was to fitting in them and too see how hard they might be to actually zip up.
Imagine my surprise when they slid on easily and zipped with no effort! I was so excited tuesday but figured it might be more the jeans then me as they have some stretch to them.
Several years ago.. eek.. just prior to getting pregnant....I had lost some weight and found someone on freecycle getting rid of a ton of clothes. I don't remember what happened to a lot of them ( i tend to massively pitch and chuck when moving and we moved last august) but I kept about 8 pairs of the size 18 pants. When I got home from work on tuesday I decided to see how close they all fit. Different fabrics and cuts.. some dress pants, some jeans, some capris...
they ALLLLLLLL fit!! maybe not with the greatest of ease around the waistline, but they all fit, they all zip and I can still breathe and sit while wearing them, lol.
I was a size 24/26 in jeans this time last year... this gave me a nice push of encouragement to see where I will be this time next year.

thanks folks.. this was a biggie for me and I'm so thrilled. I'm heading to a consignement shop at lunch time tomorrow to pick up some size 16 pants for my next goal. I really didn't think I'd get into the 18's before September and now I'm hoping I can do the 16's by then .... I don't know what will be more exciting.. to reach size 16 (haven't seen it since freshman year of high school) or to get to my halfway to goal point. It appears they will be occuring at around the same time, lol0
