What food swaps have you found yourself making? I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread as something you have swapped could give someone else ideas on what they can swap.
I swapped :
Spreadable Butter for Olive Light Spread
Semi Skimmed Milk for Skimmed.
Hot Chocolate for Highlights ( good for when I need a sweet fix) Only 40 calories also helps keep fluids up.
Mature chedder for Morrisons 30% less range of cheese
Thick sliced bread for Medium ( would go for thin but have you ever tried buttering a slice of thin)
Ceaser Dressing for a low fat vingerette
Would be great to read others swaps.

regular tortilla chips: guiltless gourmet baked tortilla chips
farm fresh butter:earth balance vegan butter
skim milk: almond milk (i've been reading that most people have an aversion to milk, but don't even know it!)
ww tortillas:sprouted grain tortillas
store bought beef: farmers market beef
Those are the main ones! If I could, I'd get raw milk cheese, but you can't sell raw dairy here0 -
I switched from:
peanut butter to almond butter
1% milk to unsweetened almond milk
chips and dip to carrots and hummus
ice cream to skinny cow bars
If I crave sweets or candy I make chocolate covered strawberries as a special treat every once in a while. Makes me feel better to incorporate the chocolate with fruit…lol.0 -

Ugha, so many people switching milk with almond milk.
I tried it, but I just cant stomach it. It just tastes.... wrong. Anyone else having problems getting it down?0 -

At first it had an odd flavor to me, putting it on my special k in the mornings
is really good, when it is ice cold I now prefer it over milk
(former gallon a day milk drinker here)0 -
I stopped putting milk in tea and coffee
Butter for flora light or olive oild spread
Oil for 1cal cooking spray
Bread for Ryvitas (mostly)
Rice for cous cous
Pasta for lentils
Ice cream for low fat yoghurt
Crisps for dried fruit
and I limited chocolate to a one a week bitesized amount.
Now I'm doing this, I don't feel I'm missing out at all and actually prefer the substitutions to the originals.0
