any advice from you moms and dads that work from home on how to get a clingy child to play independently? I have an almost 2 yr old that is pulling on me as I type this... He is in daycare 3 days a week but I work 40 hrs... can't afford to put him in full-time. Help! Any Ideas? (yes, I've spoiled him by holding him so much that now all he wants is me to play with him)

Once you've spoiled them it's hard to break, but try making him his own play area where he can see you. Don't over load it with toys, but make it interesting, then change the toys out, take a few out, add a few new, every week. Put him in "his area' and tell him this is "his ", when he comes out take him back, be consistant and stick with it. He will get the point if you stick with it.
I have a home daycare ( and 4 of my own children), and my kids are sitting next to me at the table having a snack, when we're done I'll be folding laundry and they'll be in the play area ( next to me) playing with blocks.
