Just taken some prawns out of the freezer but no idea how to cook them. I usually do them with paprika but had paprika wedges yesterday so fancy something differant. Lacking inspiration!
Would prefer low cal as I haven't done much exercise today. Have loads of fresh veg in, chillies, giant couscous, lots of differant spices, fresh garlic, ginger and lemon grass, red and green pesto, whole wheat pasta shapes and basmati, erm..potatoes and red lentils.

What would you make?

Are they peeled and deveined already? I like a bit of olive oil in a pan with some lemon juice and fresh garlic. Saute them until pink. They would be delicious by themselves or over noodles! You could use them in place of chicken or beef in tacos or fajitas. Saute some onion and bell peppers with whatever seasoning you like and throw them in right before the onions are done and wrap them up in a tortilla. Cilantro goes nicely with them (ya'll call cilantro coriander or something I think!)

This is screaming spicy prawns with indian daal (or dhal or dall, whichever spelling you choose!!).

    - Marinate the prawns in ginger, garlic & chilli- with some fresh coriander & lemon juice if you have some.

    - Simmer the red lentils in chicken/ veg stock with turmeric poder (1 tsp) and garam masala (1 tsp) - or good ole curry powder (2 tsp) until the lentils are soft & most of the liquid is absorbed.. Season well.

    - Make the 'tarka' (spiced topping for the daal) with chopped onions, garlic, ginger, chillis. If you have cumin seeds & black mustard (nigella) seeds then they go wonderfully in the tarka. Fry all the tarka ingredients together until aromatic & softened.

    - Grill or fry the prawns until cooked. Spoon some of the lentils on each plate, top with the tarka and sit the prawns on top. Sprinkle with more lemon juice & fresh coriander.

This will be about 240 cals per portion- with 4 king prawns pp
    NOM!!!!

They are peeled and de veined already. I have none of those ingredients whoops! I've got some coconut chunks I might see how they fair with my hand blender and a splash of milk, could make some thai green curry, minus the lime?
Or spicy prawn and bell pepper kebabs served with pesto couscous and broccoli. hmm

Here's a link to the recipe I use for Shrimp (or Prawn) Curry. Use light coconut milk to cut the calories and fat in half. This makes a huge batch.. so cut everything in half if you don't want to make too much!

I would saute the prawns in garlic, chilli, lemon and olive oil (add a drop of white wine if you have some), and then serve with pasta and parmesan - YUM
