Pre and Post Workout Meals

I do mostly cardio but also a couple days of strength training too. I like to run about an hour after a meal, usually oatmeal and eggs but I find myself still full after a workout and I don't really want to eat if I am full. All the literature though advises a post workout recovery meal with some quick proteins and carbs to replenish your muscles and start the rebuilding process. I just am not hungry and I also don't want to spend the calories if I'm not hungry. Any ideas? I'm thinking some sort of fruit and protien shake but maybe half before the run and half after. Still not sure I'll be hungry though. Thanks!

Some fruit or other type of simple carbs are great choices to eat before you work out, about 30 minutes before. After your workout, you need to ingest some protein and more simple carbs.

Try to stay away from too much protein or complex carbs before you work out, especially if you're going to run.
