Happy Monday everyone. Well I was just changing my weight on my ticker although I usually wait until the weights are posted but I was so happy and it asked for me to change my goals. My calories went down now. :grumble: By about 60 calories. Thats ok though, usually when I exercise I dont eat all of them so I usually have some left over.
Did everyone have a good weekend. I guess I did, It stayed pretty busy. Still waiting on my car to get fixed though. I have been without it for a week now but at least hubby borrowed one of his dads vehicles that way I can use the truck today. I cant be late to cub scouts tonight and I would be if I had to wait on him. I will probably go to town this morning to get some last minute stuff for tonights meeting. Maybe walk around the park with my little one for a bit. The past 2 days I have walked up my mountain instead and talk about a workout. My goal is to be able to walk it without having to stop to catch my breath. It is hard and I can certainly feel it in my calves when I am done. IS that the right spelling for them. ( calf muscles ) Oh well if it isnt. \
I hope everyone has a great day and get ready to weigh in tomorrow. BIGGEST LOSER
Blue Team is gonna rock this week. :smooched:   :flowerforyou: :drinker: :smokin:

Good Morning Smurfettes!
I had a fantastic weekend, except for my little football party hiccup on Saturday night. I spent the weekend relaxing and catching up on studying. Sunday morning I went to kickboxing, and it was so-so. Nobody can compare to Wednesday night Krazy Kate Kickboxing. This morning I feel refreshed and excited for the week ahead.
I have been hovering between 169 and 172 every since July. I just can't seem to break the plateau. A big reason that I have been having trouble, I believe, is attributable to the work candy dish. Most days I will eat 200 calories out of it, but some days, my trash can will be filled with candy wrappers. I will be so sick that I can't even eat dinner when I get home. So for those of you that read yesterday, I hinted at a personal challenge that I am going to share with the Blue Team.
My challenge to myself is to limit myself to one piece of candy from the candy dish each day. To help me with that, I have brought some things to help get my mind off of it, especially when I have some deadlines this week.
1. I brought chewing gum
2. I brought a big water bottle. The tiny water cups are gone in one gulp, and I spend the whole day running back and forth instead of actually doing work.
3. I brought filling healthy snacks - popcorn and fiber one bars.
I'll post in the afternoon letting everybody know how I did.
Connie--You are right, they are spelled "calves", like the animal. I hope that your truck gets done soon!0 -
Good Luck on the challenge Jeff. I dont know where you work but when I was working at the hospital in my office I had one of those dorm fridges and I would bring stuff and put it in there. I would bring bottles of water and maybe stuff to make sandwiches for lunch. Before I had gotten pregnant I was trying to lose weight and I was doing good but then of course came the baby. And I no longer work now. That was not a great time for me then. Even thinking about it makes me :explode: :grumble:
I was 4 months pregnant and I got fired. THey said I was getting complaints from my coworkers. Which the girl that was doing the complaining was useless and they realized that after I left and gave her the option of being fired or quitting. Anyway before I was pregnant my dr put me on an antidepressant because of the fact that I had gotten drepressed when I was put in hte hospital in that Sept and spent 8 days and my mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer just a month before hand. In nov I found out I was pregnant and quit my meds cold turkey and in December my mother died and in feb they fired me. I think it was because I took alot of FMLA at the time. I took 2 weeks in August when my mom first got sick. SHe had 3 brain tumors and I went home to help my dad take care of her. THen in Sept I got sick and had surgery and was out for almost 3 weeks. I was going to take a week at thanksgiving because I thought it would be last my holiday with my mom. I ended up going a week earlier because she was put in ICU with severe sepsis. Then I came back and a week later I had to go back home because she was ready to pass. I was gone for about another week because my mother had passed away and of course during that time I found out I was pregnant. I had horrible morning sickness. Well I ended up getting unemployment which they tried to fight but saw that it was no fault of mine why I got fired. Good for me. I cant believe almost 2 years later I still upset about it but I am. I think because I live in a small town and there isnt to many places to work that are good and it was good job and I enjoyed it and I was good at it. The patients loved me. Oh well enough about that.

Good morning smurfies!
Good luck Jeff I think you can stay out of it you sound prepared!
Connie, sometimes small towns can be tough, there is nothing wrong with being upset even 2 years later, we all have those memories and experiences that take leave a sort-of permanent bruise. Just think of how wonderful your little one is - something great out of it all for sure! Just think if you had loved and kept your job - your baby might be in day care today!
I had a pretty good weekend other than my chef friend coming over and cooking us risotto with lots of cheese and then drinking on saturday. Sunday was much better. I went to the gym with my friend and I've always been the "fat friend" and now I'm lighter than her and she couldn't last more than ten minutes on cardio. Don't worry folks I was gracious and when she got sad I pointed out that she pushed out two babies and I never have which perked her up again.0 -
Thank you Jules for that. It sounds like you had a fun weekend. I am looking forward to biggest loser tomorrow already. There are to many shows on tv that I want to watch now. Wed. is the toughest for me. I have my tivo in the living room and the bedroom recording at the same time LOL. TO many shows. No wonder Im so overweight LOL.

I am becoming a reality TV junkie.
I watched 2 hours of Amazing Race, and then I watched 2 hours of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
My building has a "Fitness Room", which is nothing more than a Treadmill in a broom closet. It has a TV in it, but it is only connected to a VHS player! I think part of my challenge is going to be using the "fitness room" in my building. I can bring my iPod.
Updated Personal Challenge:
1. 1 Piece of Candy Per Day
2. Kickboxing or 30 Minutes on Treadmill at least 5x this week!
I am trying to break this plateau before I had back for Homecoming. As some of you may have noticed, I posted some mini-goals.
Help me think of rewards for myself!0 -
I tivoed home makeover last night but havent watched it yet. I was watching The amazing race instead. I have to watch Dancing with the stars. Like I said wed is so busy for me LOL. Lets see out in the living room I am taping Americas Next Top Model and Knight Rider, in my bedroom is Bones. Then at 9 pm I watch Project Runway and Criminal Minds and at 10 is CSI New York. Busy Busy Busy.
I like your little challenges. I will have to think of some for me.

Hi All. I haven't checked in for a while. Life has gotten in the way! The past week has been a tough one, lots of family drama and too much to do. Unfortunately, I was eating out a lot (fast food) and not exercise at all. My life seems to have ironed it's wrinkles out and I am putting the past in the past. Today is a new day and I am going to do better this week.
I am on the same "too much tv" boat. I Tivo so many shows and then find myself spending the whole weekend on my butt catching up on Tivo. I recently made a deal with myself....I can watch all the TV that I want - so long as I am being active while I watch. So, I walk on the treadmill, lift weights, do crunches, squats, etc. while I watch TV.
Your all doing so wonderful!

Morning all,
All in all my weekend was a total bust!!!! I've been doing this for 7 weeks now and had decided about 5 weeks ago to have a cheat day every 2 weeks.
Well I had one on the 12 and I ate what I wanted, still logged it, still worked out and all was fine other than the terrible belly ache I went to bed with!! So this last Friday would be another cheat day if I kept to every two weeks. I feel like the weight is coming off nicely the last week so I was hesitant on Friday to cheat. In the end I stayed within my calories and thought good for me.
BUT then Saturday came and I was taking care of my friends daughter with cerebal palsy all day so I didn't go to the gym and I didn't think to pack myself a lunch so I was staring in my friends fridge trying to figure out what I can have. Then I decided that I didn't cheat Friday so I could on Saturday.....big mistake.....I didn't toally cheat but I didn't stay within my cals and then it carried over to Sunday! I feel awful after the weekend now...I'm up on the scale.....and I'm mad at myself. I have such an unhealthy relationship with food! And I know having a cheat day doesn't help that relationship but I figured if it gets me through the first few months with all the other changes I'm making I can then work on that later.
Anyways, just wanted to vent a bit.:grumble:
I have a personal challange for myself as well that I'm going to start today!
1.) Exercise at the gym 5X and play Dance, Dance Revolution 3X for 1 hr.
2.) Leave 100 exercise calories on the table each exercise day.
I'm going to see if I can do this for 1 week successfully!
Wish me luck!
Hope everyone is having a happy Monday!

Shauna--I know what you mean.
I went crazy Saturday night. I ate pizza and wings and pudding. I was full, but it was there so I stuffed it in. I was so uncomfortable trying to watch the end of the game.
I'm glad that you have a reasonable challenge for yourself.
I had my piece of candy already, but I made myself a mini-bag of popcorn as a snack. I feel so good at night when I don't go nuts during the day because I can enjoy a nice dinner (and even some SF Pudding for Dessert!!!)
Anybody else have goals for the week?
Also, I need help getting rewards for myself for my mini-goals!!!! They can't be food related! I am not into electronics, so for guys, it's hard to get rewards that aren't FOOD or TOYS.0 -
I'm thinking these might not be rewards you'd like Jeff but these are mine:
10lbs Lost....Dance Dance Revelution...Already have this one
20lbs Lost....Hair colored by a professional rather than myself
30lbs Lost....Tanning minutes at the salon....I figure by the time I hit this amount it will be full blown winter and I'll need some light therapy...lol :glasses:
40lbs....I think an i-Pod.....might re evaluate this one later though...I have an mp3 player that works fine but it's not as fancy :indifferent:
55lbs Lost...Final Goal.....Lots and Lots of clothes!!!!!! :drinker:
I'm trying to think of things a guy would like that is not electronics related.......a nice new watch?....Clothes?......A massage?......A small wekeend get away?......I don't know!!! I tried to help though!

Sorry for the double post...but on another note. I'm with everyone on too much TV. I think I should cut back too but then I have 2 problems. What shows do I give up and then what do I do with the time? I can fit in work, my work out, dog walk, read my book for an hour, clean house, visit friends, and spend way too much time on the computer all in my days fine along with the TV but I know it's too much. I have a friend that calls me almost everynight just to see what's on...how pathetic am i?!?!
To show you how bad here are all the shows I watch, (this is embarrasing!!)
Desperate Housewives, Amazing Race, Prison Break, CSI New York and Vegas, Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Bones, Survivor, Biggest Loser, House, Fringe, The Mentalist, Without a Trace, Cold Case, Lipstick Jungle, Dirty Sexy Money, ER, and then about 6 1/2 hour comedies!!! This is ridiculous!!!!!:noway:
That's over 22 hours of TV then add in Days of Our Lives that I watch almost every noon hour!
HELP!!!0 -
Good afternoon blue team, how is everyone doing?
I am good just making my weekend comments and my tv comments
On saturaday morning my family and I woke up at 6:30 and went on a 10.3 mile bike ride. Boy that
was refreshing, came home had a really good lunch fell a sleep for about an hour woke up and went
to my sons baseball game which lasted till about 9:30 Sat. night and had to come home and go to
sleep as I have to be up at 4 to go to work Sunday morning worked from 5 to 12 sunday came home
cleaned house and washed clothes until about 9 pm and then went to bed as I have to be up at 430 to
work my other job, monday through friday. Not only do I have to get myself ready at 430 in the morning
I have to get my 4 year old ready also. BOY that is fun.
I like a few shows but I would rather sleep sometimes instead of watching them, my shows are
extreme makeover home edition, Desperate housewives, Survivor,Biggest Loser, Big Brother and the
Hills, but I would rather sleep workin 60 hours a week and being fully involved in my sons baseball
does not leave a lot of time I am the team mom.
My rewards are
25 pounds lost I got my nails done_ already did have lost 27.5 pounds
50 pounds getting my hair done
75 pounds not sure
100 pounds getting new clothes (because I won't fit anything anymore LOL)
I have not had anything that I am not supposed to since I started Aug 15, 2008. Which is really hard
when you have a husband like mine that likes to eat out all the time.( not that I have not wanted to give up, becasuse I have, sometimes its easier to give up then keep going Well I hope eveyone has a great week and lets be the first to post so lets get thouse weigh in first thing. Tuesday or Wednesday morning0
