I found this video interesting. I know some of my friends have been worried that they gained a few lbs over their race weight but they compete in winter or fall events. According to this, up to 8% above your race weight is okay to gain during your off season.

I am steering myself towards mainly being a triathlete and open water swimmer. I will still do 5Ks and my first 10K in the fall and winter after triathlon season is over. Right now, I am still losing weight to get down to race weight and will reach it (hopefully) right before my next triathlon Aug 21. I will be done w/ tris on Sept. 11...considering my main race season is over...okay to gain just a few pounds that I would lose again or no?

I'm currently reading this book and it's facinating! That is where I found out that my racing weight is 125. It goes by age, sex, etc.
