Some theaters have popcorn that is not popped with added butter, salt, etc. You have to specifically ask for it, though, because the "default" is fattening and salty. I would wash it down with a bottle if water and definitely skip the candies.

How about your favorite dry cereal, Trail mix, any types of nuts (not pre-salted), raisins, maybe low calorie popcorn that you pre pop at home.

Pop some popcorn at home and take a REALLY BIG PURSE!

I bring a bag of popped popcorn to work for a snack -- Pop secret 100 calorie snack bags.

Throw in some diet sodas (i consider that my friday night splurge) or some fizzy low cal flavored water!

If you need a chocolate fix with your popcorn.. Blue diamond makes 100 cal packets of flavored almonds. Dark chocolate flavored ones are pretty good!

My friend pops her own popcorn and brings it. I go to the movies maybe once a year so I just get the big fatty tub of popcorn and go to town lol

I face the issue almost every week! My husband and I both pretty busy so we try to go two a movie about every other weekend. I suck at resisting popcorn, it's my fav snack. I either pop my own and throw it in my purse (only time I carry one is to the movies hee hee) or I bring nuts and dryed fruit. Either way I don't belive in giving up what you love completely, so I always allow myself one bite :)

Instead of resisting the super gigantic soda, last time i went to the movies I stopped at the gas station and picked up a bottle of Vitamin Water. Also for snacks, take your own. I don't know of anything that is healthy there. I like to bring a baggie of caramel mini rice cake snacks.

A pickle has 0 calories, lol. Our theater is strict about bringing outside food and drinks so I have to hide mine when I take it. Our theater charges over $2 for a bottle of water so I normally always bring my own drink. Sometimes I'm a sucker and get that medium size of popcorn, but I make sure that I've had a low calorie lunch or dinner, or I've worked out/am going to work out that day so I can have a little extra room for all that goodness.

I know we're not supposed to do this, but it is exactly what I do^^;; I am yet to find something decent to eat at my local theater, I just don't feel comfortable with anything they sell there except for a bottler of water. I would also like to hear some suggestions... great post! thankx
