Aloha Looking for a new start

Aloha my name is Carl
I just want to introduce myself and let it be known this is going to be a long battle for me I recently came out of hospital do to a congestive heart failure im going to assume its from my weight, after a life threating ordeal of being in a comma for 3 weeks and bed ridden for another 2 weeks and almost leaving my son 12 year young son to grow in this world without me, I have desided that time is NOW to get healthy and be there for him and family of course this is something I also am doing for myself and look forward to what evfer support this community message board has to offer,
I look forward in sharing my progress with all of you GOOD LUCK EVERY ONE..

You will find many friends here and lots of support.

Both by sisters have congestive heart failure (I am being tested next week just to be safe), so I know how dangerous that can be.

Hi Carl, and welcome!
You've come to the right place to help you! MFP is just fantastic! Between the easy food counter (which by the way is a REAL eye opener!) and all the wonderfully supportive members here, you WILL lose the weight that you want to. AND, it'll even be fun, if you can believe it!
I recommend logging all your foods BEFORE you have them, rather than after, as it tends to lead to better food choices. Drink lots and lots of water too. It really helps.

I love MFP and hope you will too. It's all about burning more calories than you take in and remembering what net calories means!
If you check the boards often, you'll start recognizing the 'regulars' (who apparently have more time than I do for replying to posts!) and we're all 'in this together' to get into shape.

Aloha Carl:flowerforyou: Sorry to hear about you being sick, sometimes it takes us a while to realise how bad our health really is. You will see that if you do all the things explained in the posts you will be surprised how quickly you will adapt to your healthier life style. Check out how many calories you can burn by swimming, which is so much easier on your joints:happy: I hope you enjoy the long jurney and remember " it's a lifestyle"

Welcome to MFP we are all her to support one another. I just want to let you know it can be doen and If i can do it I know you can!
It is hard getting started and the first step has been made and that is always the hardest but you have made that step you are here and you reconize that you have health issues and you need to get healthier that is what we are all here for and there is no judgeing or critisism here. just happy friends and "family"
