I am not having much trouble staying under calories however my food stats are saying im over on my protein, is that a problem? I think thats the reason im not hungry. I started my journey just doing simple math calories in vs calories out, but im starting to pay attention to other things.. Ideas?

Nope. MFP's recommendations for protein are too low, in my opinion.
I eat between 150-200g of a protein a day.0 -
i always thought protein was a GOOD thing! i never am in the good with that.0

Hi, Jen
Healthy Figures. the diet I am on, is like a modified Atkin's diet. High in protein. I don't believe there is anything wrong with excessive protein in the beginning, but long term high protein intake has been associated with bad outcomes - like kidney failure.
You are correct in that you are not hungry b/c of the protein, but long-term you need to find a balance between veggies, good carbs and protein. I am supposed to be eating only 500 cals per day (75% from protein) - i am closer to 750-1000 and 50% protein. I start every day w/ 3 egg white and 1 egg, I add a healthy meat (turkey sausage, smoked ham, etc). For lunch I usually have a salad or wrap sandwich high in veggies. It works for me. According to MFP I am always over in protein. I have only been doing this for about 4 weeks.
How MFPs information compare to others I couldn't tell you. I believe balance is the key.0 -
As long as you are not dramtically over, and you are getting a good balance of healthy foods (fruits, veggies, healthy grains), don't worry about it. MFPs guidelines are definitely on the low side. But if all you're eating is protein, that's probably not good :-)0
