When I use the elliptical machine for more than 20 min, I start to get a weird almost tingling sensation in my feet; almost like they are going numb. I can't figure out why in the world this is happening! Could it be bad circulation? Bad shoes? Please help! This never used to be a problem until lately!

this was recently posted, so if you don't find your answer, do a quick search.

The two most common reasons (other than personal health issues), would be shoes too tight across the top of your foot, or foot placement itself.

I would experiment with those two things first. If that doesn't resolve it maybe talk to a doctor.

agreed don't tie them too tight across the ball of your foot. I actually have to retie my shoes when I'm done on the ellip. :) Good luck

Loosen your shoes. Worked for me.

I have this problem on the eliptical as well, and I have heard from several other people that experience the same thing. I've tried staying up on my toes vs. foot flat and it doesn't seem to be any better. Not sure why it happens, but it doesn't feel good!

Also, make sure you're using your whole foot and not just your toes to press the foot-thingies down. I've heard trainers tell this to people who complain about numb feet from the elliptical.
  • That used to happen to me, but I just started putting most of my weight on my heels, like forcing my heels down instead of staying on my tippy toes. It stopped happening when I favored my heels and kept moving my toes upward.

I was having this problem too. I've started putting more weight on my heels instead of my toes and it seems to help some.
