Hi! I'm trying to figure out what the best percentage ratio is for my carbs/protein/fat...
What is best for fat loss that will allow me to maintain? Also how do I figure sodium daily intake. I know MFP can calculate what I need but I don't think what they are recommending for me is really right....

Go to goals and customize them, this will show you the percents.
Bumping up the protein a bit is a good idea.'
This is a good resource:

Also adjusting macros should be tailored to your body -- everyone is not the same.
The idea that low fat is a good/better seems a bit odd to be as I haven't seen too many low fat diets that are high in carbs. You inherently lower your carbs on a lower fat diet.
I would experiment with reducing carbs first (moderately) - don't go low carb for a long period (more than 2 days) -- that's insane and I've been down that silly path before. You'll end up eating yourself / muscle .0 -

You are right about it not being right so right on for figuring out the right thing to do that's right for you. What you said is contradictory... "i want to lose weight and maintain" ??!?!?
Weight gain is caused by an increase of insulin in a healthy adult. There is no "right" answer... We're all different, Make sure you're getting enough protein, that's what all macro nutrient ratios are based on. common rule of thumb is .5 - 1grams of protein per lbs of body weight. You start there... Start with .5grams per body weight, and 10-20% fat (healthy fats of course)
once again start with the minum 10%.
Carbs are what control insulin, and so do "excessive calories" both increase insulin which can cause someone to gain weight.
So make sure you're eating a healthy amount of calories. So you have to know how many carbs are "right for you" this is different for everyone. There are 2 ways to go about this. I am eating below 20grams of carbs per day, and I will start to increase them by 10grams a week untill weight loss stops. Once it stops, I will decrease them till i start losing weight again, once I am happy to where I want to be, I can increase them slightly so I don't gain or lose weight.
My buddy is going the opposite route, he's eating about 150grams of carbs a day, and is "slowly" lowering them.0 -
Carbs are premium fuel and anabolic!
Eating 20 grams or less is tough and if you are first starting out I would stay away from this to start out with..
Not saying it's wrong just adding my 2 cents
If you want change back, I'm sorry..0 -
Lol thanks.. I meant to write lose and maintain the lower weight. What I'm asking tho is should my daily ratio be 50% carb/30 fat/20 protein (just an example) or 30/40/30...
Idk how you could eat less than 20carbs?! What do you eat all day?
I think MFP put me at 188g carbs and I don't ever hit that. But before I enter anything for the day on the app it says 188g goal but as I enter things the number goes up...it's confusing me!0
