Almond milk expiration

So I just noticed on my container of unsweetened almond milk that it says use within seven days of opening. The expiration date isn't for over a month, but it's been open for well over seven days. One of the things I liked about it was the long expiration because at a half a cup a day for my morning cereal it takes me a long time to use half a gallon. Do you think I can still use it till the expiration or should I only use it for 7 days after opening? If the answer is 7 days, I will probably stop buying it all together because most of that money will go in the trash each week.

I still use it, as long as it is not past the expiration date. I am the only one in my house that uses almond milk so there is no way that I have it gone in 7 days or less.0

I wonder the same thing. I'm not even sure how to tell if almond milk has really gone bad either. My carton of almond milk says 7-10 days, so I've made a goal of eating a ton of cereal in the morning so I can get it used up. It does seem like a bit of waste, since I know I can't finish the entire carton and nobody else in my household will use it... But, I just can't beat 40 calories per cup. ... And skim milk goes to waste most of the time too.0

Soy milk is the same - says to use five days after opening but mine have been known to last 10 or 12 and I'm not dead yet0

We use it all the time, for long after we have opened it... if it goes bad it will begin to separate and does not taste good.... if that doesn't happen we drink it!!0

I am thinking of trying to make homemade creamsicles with it and some fruit that I will put in the blender.0

I have just started using Almond Milk and so far have gone beyond the 7 days at least once. Just bought a larger container, so will find out if it goes bad or not. I tried soy milke and rice milk before and wasn't as satisfied with them on cereal. I will keep my eye on my Almond Milk for signs of spoiling. Great information. :happy:0

So in my firdge for over a week I had Silk Almond Chocolate Milk and Very Vanilla Soy Milk... I started to notice the Soy milk's container getting inflated and I thought it was weird then I opened it and it was really thick. I then went to make a shake with the Almond milk and thought it wasn't curdled it was kind of think almost syrup like... I dumped them both down the drain I was so annoyed!! Definitely going to stick to the smaller sizes so I don't waste any!0

I couldn't even find an expiration date on the one I bought. I looked at the consistancy and it still looks creamy though like it was when I bought it. So it should be okay right?0

It takes me 10-14 days to finish my almond milk and have not had it go back or taste crappy yet. I have been using it for cereal for a year now.0

I had some that expired at the end of November. I definitely was past 10 days before it expired. Then I drank some in January. Almost went for some at February 2nd. Decided not to. Didn't kill me last time I drank it, be braver people!0

I've been drinking almond milk forever and I always go past the seven days. Sometimes I don't open it until after the expiration date and it still tastes fine.0
