I've been on MFP before & it always works until you stop doing it! I'm the heaviest now that I've been in about 5/6 years. And listing my food diary has made me realise why!:embarassed:
I have children & I would think nothing of finishing off their meals, the odd sausage here & there or half a bag of crisps. I used to buy the '3 for £10' bottles of wine & drink them through the week, EVERY week.:drinker:
Plus I serve HUGE portions to everyone in the house. We eat quite healthily but I eat too much.

So I've made my portions smaller & I've stopped finishing up the kids dinners & snacks. I still buy the 3 bottles of wine but NOT every week. I allow myself one day a week to have a drink & not a whole bottle! So Hopefully I'll see the results soon & I'll save some money too!!

Also I'm making a point of having 3 meals a day. Before I didn't make time so would come home hungry from work & head for the cupboards then eat a huge dinner.

I'm sure you all know this already but just wanted to share:flowerforyou:

Sounds like me! I'm pretty sure that one "Netty sized portion" of food was enough to feed at least 2 people. I also used to dish up the same amount for myself as I was giving my husband and even when I was full I would still plod on until the plate was empty (I was brought up that you couldn't leave the table until you'd emptied your plate - my parents have a lot to answer for on that one!) I swapped a regular dinner plate for a side plate - I still fill it - but there's much less food on it! I was also guilty of not eating properly during the day then coming home feeling famished and eating a HUGE meal - or worse - picking at biscuits and chocolate and stuff like that. Now I have snacks in my bag which I eat every couple of hours. Apples, bananas, nuts, sometimes a snack bar or similar - and I also find that chewing sugar free gum helps stave off the nibblies between times.

I'm sure now you're realised where you've been going wrong you'll do fine :) Keep up the good work!

Netty, I was raised to clear my plate too!! LOL I now get up 10 mins earlier & have some cereal, then have a banana mid morning, a healthy sandwich & an apple at lunch then a healthy smaller dinner. I also have taken to carrying healthy snacks in my work bag!

    We sound very alike!! :flowerforyou:
