Heart rate

Sorry, I am on a roll this evening!
For those who have HRMs, what are your resting and max heart rates?
My resting is 45 bpm, max not sure, I haven't done a test yet. My husband is a little freaked out by my resting HR. He was expecting it to be in the 60s.

That does seem a little low, but if you are doing lots of cardio that might be normal? When I started my resting hr was in the 90's (pretty alarming!) now 8 months later its in the 60's. Max I usually go around 180.0

I'm in the 60's resting and my max was 224 during an insanity workout. Not sure how long i was there but that is what my max is pegged at.0

I'm not a doc, but did some research when I first got my HRM and from what I have read, that is WAY low... My resting is usually in the high 60's to low 70's. 60-80 is considered normal for adults. Unless you are a highly conditioned athlete eg marathoner, long distance cyclist, swimmer, etc, that seems REALLY low. read up on Heart rates on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_rate
How did you check this number? If it really is that low, I would call your doctor and ask if he or she has any concerns about such a low resting heart rate. Better to check with a professional if you are concerned than listen to MFP people.Best of luck!

I found this on Mayo Clinic's web page:
"For an adult, a normal resting heart rate ranges from 60 to 100 beats a minute. For a well-trained athlete, a normal resting heart rate may be closer to 40 beats a minute. For healthy adults, a lower heart rate at rest generally implies more efficient heart function and better cardiovascular fitness."0 -
My resting is usually in the 60s or 70s. My max...well, it has gotten as high as 184 during a workout and my HRM said it was 97% or so.0

Mine resting has always been 90+. When I work out it's about 197-200. My heartrate has always been high...even when I am in very healthy conditions and used to being active... My doctor says it's normal!0

So is the consensus to go and see a doctor?0
