The American Family in my area is too overcrowded, so i'm thinking of joining Gold's Gym. Does anyone go to Gold's? What do you like/not like about it?

Hi, I do belong to golds have been for about 3 years. I like it alot of classes, and always there for support. Although not sure when you work out but the evenings and early morning weekend hours its always crazy busy!

  • I belong to Gold's and quite like it. There's a good variety of machines, weights and classes plus in-house fitness trainers -- all pretty much standard stuff for a gym these days. I like that when I travel I can go to the nearest Gold's (plus when you join, that is the yearly rate you pay for life as long as you keep your membership up). They give out free week trial memberships ... why not just try it and see if you like it? They are independently owned so each one can be a little different.

I think your experience will depend on the club. I'm a member of Gold's now but that is because the gym in my current city is awesome. However, I toured a Gold's in another city and it was dirty and small. I agree with the other poster: try it out for a week and see if you like it.

I love mine. I've been a member of 3 different gyms, and Gold's was my favorite. I am a member of one now.

But yes, try it out first and see if you like it before you pay for it.

I recently joined Gold's here in Boise, and I LOVE it!!! There are so many classes available, and there are different days and times for each, so you can usually find the one you like a few days out of the week that will suit your schedule.

The only thing I would suggest is beware of being sold on supplements because they will try and push them on you.

The training is awesome, too! I'm pleased that I'm actually learning how to use all the equipment/machines PROPERLY! That's the best part of having a trainer IMO.

    Good luck to you! :)

I belong to a Gold's Gym. The facilities are nice but the trainers are crap, be weery of the personal trainers and what they have you do.

I love it! I'm glad it's a 24 hour gym with 20+ different classes every week! Just do it....you won't be sorry!
