Hi all,

Having lost a couple of stone and building muscle at the same time, I have started to look more and more at Protein, I understand the workings of it all and have invented (someone else probably has aswell they're that simple) and wondered if anyone in a similar situation or more knowledgeable about building muscle could comment.

Bear in mind that these are to go alongside a calorie controlled diet, Im currently on 1310 based on 2lb a week loss, and Im there or therabouts each day, unless I do a big bike ride, then I have an available calorie intake of approx 2300 (1000 cals based on excercise)

Anyway, before I confuse everyone, and me, I do mixed days of weights and cardio, these are the shakes and cal totals, what do people think, are they pretty much good for what Im doing?

Asda - Skimmed Fresh Milk, 300 ml 105 15 0 11
Tesco - Fat Free Greek Style Yoghurt, 100 g 55 5 0 8
Asda - Strawberries, 50 g 14 3 0 0
Asda - Raspberries, 50 g 16 2 0 1
Tesco Whole Foods - Pumpkin Seeds, 25 g 145 5 12 6
Add Ingredient
Total: 335 30 12 26
Per Serving: 335 30 12 26

This one is a breakfast shake, seems to keep me going anyway. 335 cals and 26g Protein) I say breakfast but its just as good after cardio or weights I think?)

Tesco - Fat Free Greek Style Yoghurt, 100 g 55 5 0 8
Tesco - Raspberries, 50 g 14 2 0 1
Tesco Organic - Skimmed Milk, 300 ml 111 15 1 11
Add Ingredient
Total: 180 22 1 20
Per Serving: 180 22 1 20

So thats a 180 cals and 20g Protein basically I use that when Im low on available calories.

The next one includes a supplement and I mainly use ot post workout to gain back calories and add the protein. (441 Cals and 52g protein)

ater - Tap (Ml), 300 ml 0 0 0 0
Maxi Muscle Promax Diet Shake - Promax Diet Strawberry, 60 g 215 10 4 38
Asda - Fat Free Natural Greek Style Yoghurt, 100 g 57 6 0 8
Asda - Blueberries, 25 g 16 4 0 0
Asda - Raspberries, 25 g 8 1 0 0
Tesco Whole Foods - Pumpkin Seeds, 25 g 145 5 12 6
Add Ingredient
Total: 441 26 16 52
Per Serving: 441 26 16 52

After a very long post (apologies) what do people think about the shakes? Useful or meaningless, I think the Promax shake is ideal based on what I read about after workouts? But how about the others as basically regular daily meal replacements or supplements? Anyone got suggestions ion how best to work them in to a diet?

My goal, lose fat but gain muscle/definition!! Im confusing myself trying to get a balance of cals and growing muscle.

Comments greatly appreciated, thanku
