I wanted to share my running experience with you all in hopes to enlighten you, inspire you, and remind you that even tho people give Monday's a bad rap, they don't have to be bad!

This morning i was up earlier than the norm for me, been dealing with insurance companies from the car accident last week, and then dealing with classes for school in the fall. I was about around 8am, and i stepped outside. Absolutley beautiful here in upstate NY. Sun is shining as bright as can be, a single thin wispy cloud in the school, not too hot not too cold perfect. I said right then and there to myself that i absolutley must get out and enjoy this morning, because it is rare that i am even up to enjoy this.

After all the phone calls, and emails, and everything else i had to do, i had a good ol' bowl of cream of wheat with some preserves, changed into my shorts, tank and running shoes, and finally decided that i was gonna run the canal today. Kissed my father goodbye and i was on my way.

I get to the canal, stretch a little and get ready. I take a hugeeee sigh and felt a feeling of nervousness. Last summer, i let myself get out of shape and gain 20# from where i was in january 2010. I was 160 last summer, (currently 140 now!! :) ). Last summer this canal defeated me. But today i thought, hopefully this year it wont defeat me. Hopefully this year i can get on MFP and post a NSV of how this year i defeated that canal. Well this year the canal had much more in store for me.

The canal stretches for miles and miles, I probably did a good 6 today. Ran, walked, hiked. Did it all. The canal cleared my mind. Not that i was having a bad day or anything of the sorts, but i was so free. I was just running and running and it felt great. Stopped quickly to get a sip of water from my bottle and i see some sun fish at the surface of the water also enjoying the quite nice weather. But then the best thing happened, highlight of my day. I was running a long and i see this long brown figure at on the other side of the canal. I slowed, and low and behold, a beautiful Doe, all fours in the water munching on some nearby leaves off a tree. The most beautiful thing i had ever seen in my life. i thought to myself i wish all MFPer's were here to witness this. So breathtaking.

I tip-toed until i got past her, and continued on my way. I came to a bridge that connects the canal to the state park where our local beach is. Took it. Then my run on the canal turned into a hike. Loved it. I think i'm gonna hike on friday. But i continued to think to myself OMG, this has been an absolutley amazing adventure for me. By myself, just running along, enjoying and appreciating all the little goodnesses that life and nature has to offer.

So the moral of the story? Don't forget guys to take some time out for yourself and enjoy whatever it is that make you happy and frees your mind and uplifts you. This run was such an experience for me. I know we are all here hitting the gym hard, counting calories and grams and everything else (And we're kickin *kitten* too gosh darnit!), but the gym doesnt always have to be a source of exercise. Get out and get moving around the town, and enjoy the simplicity that is around us. I know we have a lot of problems going on around the world, but you have to help yourself before you help the next.

Happy Monday to you all!
Much Love <3
