Are rice servings dry or cooked?

I know pasta servings are for the dry pasta, but I always assumed that rice serving sizes are for cooked. I am having rice tonight and was looking through the database, and some of the entries specify dry or cooked. If my bag of rice doesn't specify, is it safe to assume that the serving size is for the cooked rice?
I have found out recently that I LOVE rice and need to be really careful about measuring it out and calculating the calories correctly or I can get myself into a lot of trouble. The entries in the database for rice are all different and I really need to be sure that I am extra conscientious about my rice servings.

I would go with cooked to be on the safe side since cooked rice is a lot larger than dry if it's not specific. Or can you compare it to other brands of rice and get an idea if the calorie count seems really high or low comparativly?0

If the bag doesn't specify then they are talking about the dry product. By law companies have to tell you the nutritional info in the product AS SOLD.0

Ffor comparison, I'm cooking brown rice right now and it says 1/2 cup dry or 3/4 cup cooked has 180 calories.0 -
