I know this has been mentioned before and talked about a lot but I want to start next week and looking at the plan I'm kinda nervous. I was looking at the plan and i noticed they expect you to walk 4.5 mph in week 3 and 5 weeks 4-6.. does any one's legs really walk that fast??? Anyone have any insight or suggestions?

It can be done, I walk at 3 mph with out any effort. I also found that looking ahead causes a lot of unneeded anxiety and sometimes causes me to try to talk myself out of it.0

Not sure what you mean. Unless I am missing something, the plan does not specify speed, you either run for the allotted time or distance, whichever you choose. In order to complete the 3 miles in 30 minutes however, your run speed will need to be around 6 mph (10 min mile). I just completed week 3 day 1 today.
I also use this iPhone app which is great for keeping you on pace. http://www.c25kapp.com/
Here is the full plan (no speeds included): http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml0 -
See i was looking at it as being time and distance walking, not or lol maybe thats my problem0

I have been walking at 3.5mph and running at 6mph (all treadmill at this point.) I will move to pavement once I compete the treadmill first. I am not a runner I am a weight lifter, so 6mph for 3 minutes today was rough.0

Yea I'm not a runner either, I'm a walker lol. so I'm expecting a challenge. Thanks!0

I'm super slow, I just started yesterday and my first jog was only at a 4.5. There aren't any specified speeds, just what you feel you can handle0

I completed week 3 on the treadmill on Saturday by walking at 3.7mph and running at 5.5mph. My legs can definitely manage faster paces but not my cardiovascular system. Not yet, anyway. I was well and truly WORN OUT after each of my sessions last week.0

It depends on how tall you are. I am 5'10" and I can walk at a 5.5 mph pace on a treadmill, but it's difficult. When your legs get used to it, you can move faster while still walking.0

I'm 5'6" i walk a lot, training for my 2nd 3 day 60 mile Susan G Koman walk for the cure in November, just not a runner so I'm a little scared lol.
I will for sure be on a tredmil, no way i could be outside in the texas heat doing it. I'm excited, just nervous. I'm starting next monday0 -
I weigh 270 lbs and I usualy jog a mile and a half at 5.0-6.0...
It can be done : )0 -
i normally feel like i'm gonna die after 1/4 mile!0

You will get there though! When I first started running/jogging I could barely go for 30 seconds.. after about a month of trying and trying I finished my first mile without quitting! You can do it if you just dont give up!0
