squeezing in exercise

I work long hours at an office 730-830. I usually walk 30 minutes on my lunch and i try for 30 minutes after work but during the day I try to squeeze in strength exercises like chair dips, lunges, squats, crunches etc when clients arent around. Is this going to be effective at all if I do it spratically during the day, or is it something that only really works if im home/in the gym for a solid amount of time continously doing them?

I think any type of movement is beneficial. :) You won't get as high of a calorie burn, and it's not enough for cardiovascular health.

I can only tell you I thought the same thing and the nutritionist said it DOES NOT Matter. When I started I could only walk and/or exercise 5 min at a time and she said fine, just try doing it more than once a day. I worked up to about 40 min a day now and I walk and do my cardio later in the evening.

I work 10 hour days and go to school, so exercise is one of the issues I have a hard time finding room for. Unfortunately the only way I can get a good work out in is if I exercise in the morning before work. This is difficult to do, so I have also found that the 30 Day Shred is not just a great exercise, but 27 minutes long.

I think with strength stuff, a couple of minutes at a time will be fine - just try to do a whole set each time. As for the cardio stuff - I've heard that it takes 20 minutes to really start burning. If you squeeze in a couple of 30 min sessions like you've been doing, that should be fine. In saying that, at the beginning, especially with bigger people, any exercise is beneficial. As your body adjusts to the exercise though, 10 minutes won't be enough to keep you losing.
