I am now at just about 2 months on MFP. I started out at 6'1, 250lbs. In the beginning i was dropping 4-5 a week. this sounded normal since that's how it is in the start i have heard. Now after 2 months, i have lost 4 pounds 2 out of the last 3 weeks. I keep expecting my loss to slow down to 1-2 lbs a week but it hasn't yet. I feel i have been eating pretty healthy, always under my cal goal (about 100-300 under), but never deal with much cravings or hunger as im eating lots of food.

What are your thoughts?

It'll slow eventually. I started with not even that much to lose, around 40lbs, and I lost the first 21lbs in 3 months. Since then, in the last three months, I've only lost about 8lbs.

It will slow down, but as a guy, your weight loss tends to be quicker. (Lucky you!)

Congratulations on all your hard work!

You are young and male and if you are exercising at all, it isn't unusual for the weight to fly off. If you have ever watched extreme makeover weight loss... they sometimes lose over 100 lbs in 3 months... so it can be done. Whatever you are doing, it is working. Be grateful you are blessed with the ability to drop so quickly for so long and just keep it going!

Rage, it will slow down, also as you lose weight you have to exercise harder to burn the same calories!! do you have a ''deadline'' to hit your garget weight ( a dangerous thing, in my opinion)??

you are doing ALL the right things, stick to the diet and perhaps try vary the exercise a bit...do some toning to give your body some shape and definition because I will bet you your friends and family have noticed the weight loss :-)
  • Must be nice! I have always been a turtle when it comes to weight loss. It can be so frustrating to not see results as quickly as I feel I should. Congrats on the loss!

no i dont have any deadlines, i just know i need to be healthier and losing weight is part of that. I'm a little embarrassed to say it, but I do very little exercising (other then the small amount of cardio i get from working in a kitchen). Changing my diet has been the easy part, getting my lazy *kitten* to go to the gym on a regular basis is the hard part! I definitely need to get to work on the toning.

And yes family and friends have noticed and damn that feels good!

    Thanks guys

you don't need a gym! I go to one but far prefer exercising outdoors and walking for miles in the street or a park rather than being on a treadmill...the treadmill reminds me of my job too much!!

you don't have to do much exercise, do 30 mins of walking every other day, but those numbers you have dropped mostly on diet are fantastic! couple that with some cardio and you will lose more.
