A different kind of NSV

So I've been working on losing weight for a year now. You can see how much I've lost. Here's the NSV. My husband is grossly out of shape. He's 6'4" and 320ish. He eats out all the time (he travels for work) and has no motivation/desire to lose weight. He is genetically inclined to be healthy (super low cholesterol and blood sugars) so his unhealthiness is masked by his genetics. Through this year, he has watched me watch what I eat, what I drink, (try to) work out. Recently, I read an article on here about why we should drink water and how much and I told him about it. He figured out a way to make drinking water through the day without stopping. Bought a cooler and will be buying a water bottle with a filter. Today is his first day and he's already noticing a difference. He didn't have a single soda and also ate less sunflower seeds and he said he feels better, less tired. Not sure if it's in his head, but YAY!! He took a step in the right direction! I'm so excited! Hopefully, next he'll take my advice and go to a nutritionist so that he can figure out how to eat right when he's on the road.

That is fantastic! My husband refuses to get on board - he is pushing 390 lbs and is decently healthy but eats terribly and it scares me that something would happen to him and I would end up raising two girls alone. I am glad your husband is taking the first step!0

I know there is another trucker on here that takes his meals with him, but he's home every night. Just your husband switching to water will probably start him losing weight. Maybe seeing this weight loss will spur him on for more.0

I asked him if he weighed himself this morning or last night and he didn't, so we're going to have to go with the last weigh in. I just wonder how much he'll lose quitting the pop and chugging the water.0 -

How nice. Hopefully he'll keep it up and that it will snowball into more positive changes for both of you!0
