Eating Late? or Staying Under on Calories?

Which is better?? It is after 7 PM... I had protien shake for dinner in addition to 2 little pancakes,,, I'm stuffed.. I ate lo-cal rice & veggies today...
I'm at almost 800 cal for day & have around 1000 left... SO??? If I have something at bedtime is that worse than stayin under calories? Or is eating only 800 cals worse than eating again at bedtime???
I've only been counting calories for almost a week, so I don't know which is best to do... Thanks for any info~

You should eat at least 1200 calories, although one day of being under won't hurt you. I always eat at night up until I go to bed (around midnight) and still lose 3-3.5lbs a week. There is nothing wrong with eating at night.0

There is no time cut-off where you can't eat anymore. Meal timing has zero bearing on body composition.
Eat whether it's a minute, hour, or 12 hours before sleep. Your body really doesn't care.0 -
I'm always under, usually by a lot as well. (not that much tho!) But it doesn't sound like your giving your body enough food in general. I may be under but I eat a lot thru the day, it's just mostly fresh veggies and fruits. But I'm no expert! Thats just what I've been doing and I have lost over 5lbs in a week.0

As everyone else has said, go ahead and eat if your hungry. Don't eat just to eat. Thats what got most of us here.
I eat pretty close up until I go to bed, and have had no probs.

I can't eat before going to bed because I have acid reflex, so always try to eat at least 3-4 hours before bed. If you don't have that problem, and you're hungry, then you should eat.0

I eat late as well, since I work 2nd shift. If your that far under your calorie goal. the best thing would be to maybe grad some almonds. Their high in calories, but packed full of good stuff; that will at least get you to your 1200.0

Thanks ya'll.. I'll probly eat once more before bed... I've just heard not to eat before bed like 3 hrs...

Eat late if you're hungry, up to your daily limit even. If you're way under and you're not feeling hungry, just have a couple ounces of nuts (almonds are the classic, but cashews taste amazing). An extra 350 calories of fat and protein should punch you up into your minimum calories for the day (at 6'7", i try not to let myself go under 1600). Still, it won't kill you to fast for a day every now and again.0
