I just tried this recipe and was floored how easy, delicious and HEALTHY it is compared to the alternative. Two bananas sliced into 1" chunks put into baggie and freeze, 1T walnut pieces 2T water and 1T lemon juice. Combine ingredients into a plastic tumbler and use a portable blender to turn it into ice cream consistency. The total calorie count is under 250, 60g carb and a little healthy dose of "good fats". Absolutely the finest fruit sorbet / mock ice cream I ever ate and super sweet and creamy, the walnuts add a whole nuther crunchy thing to it.

yummolicious. I love fruit sorbets. Ah, and for those of you who didn't know, when you see a "T" in a recipe, it means tablespoon, when you see" t" in a recipe, it means teaspoon :D

Know what else is super yummy to do with frozen bananas and walnuts? Melt down some dark chocolate (aiming for at least 70% here), toss in the chopped walnuts, a little orange zest, and dip the banana slices in. I like to do this in a fondu pot. It's an awesome way to get in my daily allotment of healthy dark chocolate, fruit, and healthy fats.

For those of you that doubt it....try it. With no artery clogging heavy cream or sugar or artificial sweetners or flavors, you will swear you are eating Haagen Daas.

I make this kind of ice cream! I can vouch for it. It is creamy and wonderful. You can even just use ONE banana chunked up, then frozen in the blender of your choice (food processor for me). Top with whatever nuts you want.
