When I get to my goal weight, I'll be getting a tattoo on the inside of my wrist with a word, or a couple of words.... (nothing too long)

Any ideas what I should get matching that description? Want to get a couple of different ideas.

Thanks! :flowerforyou:

My bestie just went and got his zodiac sign on his wrist, looks very cool.
  • That's something that I'm going to be doing for myself as well, I just have no idea what I want to get done.
  • I said that once too. I'm up to 11 tatts. LOL

I was thinking of doing the same thing, but putting it on my back. I wanted to do something with the weight I started at, but try to put the numbers in roman numerals or something unique. I'm not sure for words though what I would put on
  • I like symbols and pictures, too. I have one on my back that I got when I had to put my cat down after 17 years. The most painful tattoo I have. Took over and hour and I thought I was going to die from the pain. LOL. Love the tattoo! We must suffer for beauty! HA HA HA

I've been thinking of the same, some I've seen or heard of I've liked are:

L'Chaim (Hebrew for "To Life!", like a toast)

A picture of a phoenix- not a word, but a powerful symbol of rebirth and fighting to become something new and stronger, and the difficulty of passing through fire to do it.

What words are meaningful to you?

Do you have kids? a friend of mine had her child's name tatted on her wrist. Maybe a special symbol for you and your husband.

I love that..... I was thinking of getting another one on my hip, actually... maybe. That's somewhere I'd never even THINK about getting one at my current weight.

The roman numerals is a great idea.

I'd kinda want a word, like "dream" or "believe" or "a posse ad esse" (which is latin for: from being able to being). Just found that on a google search and love it.

I got addicted to tattoos long ago...I have a back piece I think there is a pic on my profile and I have like 18 tatts total...mostly flower and butterflies...lol Get something that means something to u...something u will like looking at for the rest of your life. Funny thing happened to me....when I was overweight....I had tattoos and when I lost the weight....they shrunk....lol I mean it was too funny. So now I have to get more....just trying to decide what else I want now....

Ooooooooo, I like that L'Chaim, but I've found a few others that I like more too...
"cura te ipsum" - take care of yourself
"ad meliora" - towards better things
"a posse ad esse" - from possibility to actuality

Great, now I have a decision to make, lol...

No kids yet...that's what I'm leaving the other wrist open for.

"I am in charge of my life."

Do it in Latin, Chinese, French, or just plain old English. As long as you realize that this motto will help you keep and maintain your own lifestyle.

I think my next one will be a cursive letter "L" on my left wrist. Both for my initial, and I'm a bit dyslexic and could use the reminder.

I was thinking the same thing. My fave flower is a white daisy...so I was thinking something with daisys and my 4 kids' names on my ankle or foot. How painful would a tat on your foot be? ;)

My wife had a couple of crosses done on one of her ankles to mark each time I was deployed away from her and the family. When I was staging again to go back overseas to Afghanistan, I asked her if she was going to put another cross on for the upcoming deployment. She replied, "Only if its with a Sharpie." Thus, I think an ankle one is a bit...sensitive..."

I have one on my foot AND my ankle...the foot was worse, but worth it. :) Grin and bear it, baby!
  • I have 11, most are skulls or something creepy, but my favorite one is the Kanji symbol for "love" on my left shoulder, in red. And my zodiac on the back of my neck (I forget that one is there sometimes when someone says "hey, whats that on the back of your neck?" and i think they mean a bug and I start swatting at my tattoo. I know, silly. )

    Haha @ swatting your neck.

I think I've narrowed it down to:

cura te ipsum - take care of yourself

deo juvante - with God's help

ex fide fiducia - from faith comes confidence

non sum qualis eram - I'm not who i was

    What are your thoughts?

All these people that posted that they wanted something from "HP", it took me a minute to figure out that meant Harry Potter, and NOT Hewlett Packard.

I've got a dragon on my foot and a zodiac symbol on hip and I'm dying for another one but i'm not sure where to get it. I was thinking of covering up the symbol with something else because I don't want it in a visible spot, I don't want people to see it unless I want them to. I also can't decide between a some kind of raven but I want it kind of creepy and forlorn but not too detailed or an octopus.
