Ok so I was wondering something, it may be a stupid question..lol..
But I don't drink Soda at all. Actually believe it or not I've only had it one time in my whole life and I hated it, so never had it again..
I only drink 1 glass of milk a day, and then the rest is water..
I know your supposed to drink 32 oz. a day..
I drink over 40 oz a day.. Is this ok? Or will it cause extra water weight, or anything? I dunno, I was just thinking about it, everyone always says if ya drink more water you'll lose weight, but its all I drink and I still can't lose.. haha
Thanks

It is very hard to drink TOO MUCH water.
I think you are doing wonderfully, especially with water intake.
Technically, you are supposed to drink 64 oz a day. :flowerforyou:
8 servings of 8 fl. oz = 64 fl oz.
So, there is more to drink.0 -
"They" say you sould drink 8 - 8 oz glasses a day, which is 64 oz.
Water doesn't cause "water weight"...lack of water and increased sodium causes water weight. When people talk about "losing water weight" its because they stopped eating highly processed, high fat, high sodium foods and started drinking water more.
I personally drink at LEAST a gallon a day...that's 128oz...some times I'll drink 1.5 gallons...that's 192 oz.
Drinking a ton of water flushes toxins from your body...water is the best thing you can drink!!!
I found this...I've read better articles, but this one is pretty good...
Top 4 Benefits Of Drinking Water

Everyone’s heard how important it is to drink enough water. Especially in the hot summer months. But is it really that necessary? Absolutely. This nutrient is vital to health in numerous ways, and the health benefits of drinking water cannot be underestimated.
1. Drinking water enhances fat loss
Water is an essential nutrient. All chemical reactions in the body depend upon it. If you’re trying to lose weight, this can’t be ignored. You won’t be able to lose weight without water to flush out the by-products of fat breakdown. When there isn’t enough water to dilute the body’s waste products, kidney stones may form. When the kidneys aren’t working to their full potential, the liver must step in and help. Once this happens the liver can’t optimally perform its other important functions. As a result, burning fat has to wait.
2. Combat ailments by drinking more water
In many cases, fatigue, headaches and back pain may be caused by dehydration. If you suffer from an afternoon nod off, try drinking more water at lunch. If you or your children complain of frequent headaches, the amount of water you’re drinking could be responsible. And, muscle spasms are also caused by not being adequately hydrated.
3. Drinking water can reduce hunger
Experts say that hunger pangs are often misinterpreted cravings for water. Try drinking water before your regular meals and see if it helps you cut down on the amount of food you eat. It really works as an effective appetite suppressant. Avoid counting tea, coffee, sodas and juices in your fluid intake. Coffee and tea contain caffeine which has a diuretic effect and makes you lose water. Sodas and juices are too sweet—because the body must dilute them, they cause more dehydration.
4. Look younger - drinking water hydrates your skin
When the skin is properly hydrated, it looks plump and more radiant. Water will keep the toxins flushed out and help you to cool off through perspiration. Muscles need to have enough water to make them look full too. Deprive yourself of water and you’ll see the difference in the mirror.
Are you dehydrated?
Just how do you know if you’re getting dehydrated? If you have a dry mouth, produce less urine, have very dark urine and/or feel dizzy or faint you probably need water, quick. Drink at least 8 glasses a day. Experts now recommend even more, up to 12 glasses a day. To be more precise, drink ½ ounce per pound of body weight. If you exercise or are very active increase the number to 2/3 ounce per pound. Try monitoring your water intake closely for the next month. When you drink enough, you’ll look and feel better.
I weight 190lbs...so 2/3 oz per body weight would be 125.4 oz per day...so my gallon is almost exact.0 -
Whoa girl! You're a long ways away from drinking too much. I don't know how true it is, but a lot of people say 8 8oz of water (64oz total) to drink a day.
I drink generally 80oz or so a day. Makes me feel fresher and lighter (oddly enough).0 -

I want to start drinking more water however its just blah for me. I started with a goal to drink more I was drinking like 68oz a day but then well my tea addition got involved and well that went down the drain. If i could drink as much water as i do tea that would be wonderful. I love sweet tea. :drinker: But I know I have to drink more so a new goal for me. cheers :drinker:0

It depends on the actual size of your glass.
Typically 8 fl oz is 1 cup, BUT many drinking glasses are larger then that.
So, you would need to drink 8 cups of water to get 64 oz. for your minimum.
Any over that is a perk!
***Side note: I HATE water and struggle to get even 1/2 requirement in. I sometimes add in Crystal light, teas, etc....but it's a challenge for me. I just don't think about drinking.0 -

Awesome idea...I get the big 32 oz ones....cause I know if I chug one down...I am 1/2 way there. Which is a big deal to me....it usually takes me all day at school to do that.0 -
for yall who have a hard time getting enough try buying one of those half-gallon insulated jugs ( i think igloo puts them out) it really helps me. I don't always think about drinking water either, but when i have my jug with ice cold water by my side i can't get enough :drinker: :drinker:0

Same with me! If I don't finish my 32 ozer by the end of work...I make myself chug it.0 -
So, I like water...cold water is amazing...I just don't drink very fast (unless I am VERY thirsty). I have found that adding a little crystal lite powder to it makes me drink it faster... Does that count as H2O?? I hear don't count coffee, tea, juice as you intake...what about crystal lite??0
-
I don't think tea is bad for you. A lot of people frown on getting your fluids from tea, crystal light etc. But I mean if you don't enjoy water (I do thankfully) then I don't see them as such a bad option.0

A read in the paper of a lady who died from drinking 44 cups in a day. It diluted her blood so much her electolytes went so low her ticker crashed. Now who in their right mind would drink that much? Gotta wonder about some people...:drinker:0
