Falling off the horse...

I feel like not only have I fallen off the horse, but it circled back around and trampled me while I was down! I've tried the "just go to the gym" thing, I've not bought foods that I know are bad for me.

Last night, I ate an entire pint of raspberry sorbet. I know it could have been worse; but this is getting out of control.

Have any of you had a few weeks where you just didn't want to work out or eat well? How did you get past it? Any suggestions???

Ummm.... like every single day I don't want to workout AND I want to eat like crap...But I just try to push through it & get it done the right way :) (also, I want my body to transform & have to scale show a number I'm happy with). We all go a little overboard on the food sometimes, but hey, we're human. As long as it's not a daily thing.

For working out, you just have to make yourself do it. Ya know you'll feel 10 times better afterwards :) This may not help you much, but I'm here for ya girl!!!

    Hungry girl advise

    Important rules. Here they are...
    1. Don't drink your calories. There's nothing sadder than realizing you just consumed hundreds of calories by sipping a sweet drink... and you're still hungry! For the most part, I look for drinks with no more than 50 calories per cup, and I always check the labels carefully for the total servings per bottle.
    2. The 80/20 rule. I live by it. It means that 80 percent of the time, I eat what I know I should be eating. And 20 percent of the time, I allow myself to stray a bit. It's important to indulge every once in a while... like, maybe, 20 percent of the time!
    3. Don't turn a bad meal into a bad week. So you made a poor food choice. You're human. Don't give up and throw in the towel just because you overate. Jump right back into things at your next meal. No biggie. Truly.
    4. Identify and avoid your trigger foods. These are the foods you can't be trusted around -- the ones where "just a few" turns into WAY too much; the foods that seem to make you hungrier and hungrier. Don't keep these foods in the house. They're too tempting and not worth the trouble...
    5. Don't make excuses -- it's all about being prepared. The Boy Scouts know what they're talking about! If you know you're going out to dinner, check out the menu online so you can plan ahead and make smart choices. And always keep emergency snacks handy -- in your purse, car, desk drawer... wherever you might need them. Then you won't need to make excuses.

That's the best thing about using MFP, an occasional day off the horse won't undo you for too long. Just get back on track and don't let it get you down. I eat whatever I want, just in amounts that'll keep me under my calories, so I never feel like I'm depriving myself too much. Makes it easier to stick with it.

best tip to avoid the sorbet fiasco again is to only spoon a bit of it into a bowl then put the tub back in the freezer! let your brain understand that your arent trying to deprive it of these nice things, you just know you dont want it because its not going to benefit you in anyway and it will just use up more calories from your daily allowance. slowly your gonna learn not to crave it.

I tend to have weeks on end where i eat really well then i have one crazy binge eating day where i cant control myself. i literally stuff my face with chocolate and big meals then top it off with a boozy night out. then im back on the wagon again. this probably undoes all my hard work but its like im a differnt person. if i crave it then i eat it! :o(

I was recently on vacation with my family and fell off the horse. I wont make excuses but for the entire week I had very little internet access (just to log on quick to keep my days going). I only started back this morning and it feels great!
I think it happens to everyone!!

As far as eating the raspberry sorbet, I know the feeling. I've done it. But they now sell these single portion servings that are 110 calories. These have been a life-saver for me. :) But on the days where I have just failed miserably, I look at myself in the mirror, let out a sigh, and say "Tomorrow will be better." That's all you can do. If it wasn't for my friends here on MFP I'd be lost. And as for that horse, grab him by the reins, look him in the eyes and say "I've got this!" :)
