July Calorie Burn Challenge

I'm challenging myself to burn 10,000 calories in the month of July.

Anyone want to join me?

You can choose how ever many calories you want to burn and then every week on Friday's Check in with the Calories you've burned for the week!

    This will be a challenge but want to give it a try! Need to be in sweet shape for my end of July vacation and this should be the motivation I need!
  • Awesome everyone! I will send you all reminders on July 1st and then on each Friday to log your calories burned for the week. If you want you can log them each day also...
  • Ok everyone that has signed up so far I have created a spreadsheet that you can log your calories burned and after everyone has logged their calories I will post the totals each week.

    I'm still working on it...it didn't post the way I thought it would...

    Count me in!! I think this is exactly what I need to keep me motivated :) 10,000 is my goal!

    I'll give it a shot! I will say 10,000 for now, but may change that once I get my HRM since I will be able to more accurately count the calories I'm burning :wink:

    I have been doing 10,000 already .....if its a challenge I think I should up it I wanna say 15000 would be good for me 700 a day 5x a week ....sounds hard but I guess that's what makes it a challange .... okay I'm in but for 15000 ...need to lose weight by the end of july....need to lose period but july we go to florida with my sons baseball team for their world series....

  • Ok everyone...I'm sure I'll be updating this form again, but I think I have everyone that wants to participate so far!

    Here is the link to the form to fill out each week.

    Be sure to enter your goal for the month and each week your total calories burned.

    I will post everyone's progress so far and burn total needed each week to reach goal!

    I am a newbie and would love to be apart of this challenge. Something to jumpstart my workout routine. I have gained so much motivation already from the people on this website and look forward to logging on each day. We are going to Garner State park the first week in August so this would definatly help me achieve my goal weight for this trip. i will stick with 10,000 burned because i am a newbie.

    I got my hrm yesterday! It was a reward for finishing my first ever race...a 1/2 marathon inline skate! I was last but so proud of myself for finishing (and it didn't feel too embarrassing because it was also a 1/2 marathon run and all the runners still had to finish :happy: ). Anyway, it's a PolarFT60 and I am so excited to start logging my calories in July. Working towards running my first 5k on Sept 25th. Need to keep on running and get those calories burnin'!!!

  • I'm in, too! My goal will be 10,000 and anything I do above that will be a bonus. I'm afraid to set my goal higher than 10,000, in case I fail and then I'll feel guilty and discouraged.

    So does the 10,00 calories mean what you burn at the gym only or what you burn at the gym plus the calories that you did not consume each day??
