Hi! I've been using the MFP app on my phone since just before New Years. I didn't realize there was all of this other great stuff as well!
I started using the journal bc I love to eat and I have a tendency to eat anything without really thinking about it. I put a lot of junk into my body that I don't need. I was at a healthy weight when I started because I am very active (running, dancing, lifting, etc) but my body wasn't getting the definition I wanted from strength training (esp in my abs). All the research I did said it was bc of my food choices. Soo, I decided to take control.
I am not unhappy with my current weight but my ultimate goal is about another 4 pounds to take me back to where I was before I got married 7 years ago. If i make it, great. If I don't, I'm healthy and my husband totally digs me as I am, so it's all good.
I'm excited about this online forum. I have a tendency to drop the ball when I've not done well for a few days. When I'm doing intense cardio or endurance training, I eat a lot of calories for fuel. Then on normal days, it's hard to cut it back to my goal intake amount. I'm hoping that this "community" will help me stay on track when I start to get out of the habit.
