Hi everyone,

I need help figuring out the calories in these beans I made.

A few weekends ago, we made some pork stuff (neck bones and ribs) on the grill, but before we put it on the grill we boiled it. At this point I added a small amount of salt and pepper to the water. After removing the meat, I strained the broth (the fat had collected and it was removed). I put 1 16oz bag of pinto beans (washed and removed the stones) in it and boiled for ~5 hours, I added some extra water during the cooking. I didn't add any spices or anything. How could I estimate the calories???

Btw, its delicious and easy (if you're going to be in the house for 5 hours). I can't believe that some people throw away their broth from boiling meats/veggies. Theres a million uses for homemade broth. I always freeze mine if I don't have a use for it right away.

Thanks!

I'd put it in the recipe calculator - using a generic stock and your pinto beans and take a guess at how many servings.
The generic one may have more salt that you use, but it will give you an estimate anyway.
