elliptical

I just got an elliptical and it was kind of cheap, so it's not the greatest one in the world and it doesn't let me enter my weight. Does that mean the amount of calories it says I burn is completely off? It's always like 100 or 200 calories lower than what MFP says and I know that one is usually quite a bit higher for most people.
And, sadly, I can't afford a heart rate monitor.
Which one do I go by?

The more information you can enter the ore accurate it will be. I would go with MFP estimates because it has more information based on your weight and age. Neither one is completely accurate but I think in your case MFP is more accurate than the elliptical.
Btw. Kudos on the elliptical and hope you show that machine who is boss0
