Looking for reveiews of the 17 day diet or other suggestions

Options
I'm pretty frustrated right now. I've been eating under 1200 calories for a good month, exercising virtually every day for an average of an hour (hard, dripping sweat exercise) and nothing is budging. I'm stuck just as i start. The ONLY thing I can think of is that even though I'm eating fewer carbs than MFP recommends that I'm eating too many. I thought I might try the 17 day diet and see if that kickstarts things. I'd be interested in reviews, successes, failures and other suggestions as well. Thanks in advance.

Hi i can't see your diary Are you eating to enough?

This is just a part of it! please read the link above

Generally someone with a BMI over 32 can do a 1000 calorie a day (2 lbs a week) deficit
With a BMI of 30 to 32 a deficit of 750 calories is generally correct (about 1.5 lbs a week)
With a BMI of 28 to 30 a deficit of 500 calories is about right (about 1 lb a week)
With a BMI of 26 to 28 a deficit of about 300 calories is perfect (about 1/2 lb a week)
and below 26... well this is where we get fuzzy. See now you're no longer talking about being overweight, so while it's still ok to have a small deficit, you really should shift your focus more towards muscle tone, and reducing fat. This means is EXTRA important to eat your exercise calories as your body needs to KNOW it's ok to burn fat stores, and the only way it will know is if you keep giving it the calories it needs to not enter the famine response (starvation mode)

Hi, I'm currently on Day 10 of Cycle 1 of the 17 day diet. So far, I've lost about 16 lbs. I eat constantly and am never hungry. It's working for me. I've got the rest of today and then seven more days of this cycle and am hoping to lose another 8-10 lbs. Message me if you want to know more. :)

I too am on the 17 day diet. Im on round three of cycle 2. So far i've lost 18 1/2 pounds. The diet itself is pretty easy and after the first week the major cravings are gone. I definitely crave chocolate once in a while and i have a small amount and i'm happy. I've lost over 15 inches and i'm fitting into things I haven't in quite some time. My problem is the exercise. for the first two months i did great with the walking then my arthritis kicked in and i haven't walked in a few weeks. I really enjoy the foods i eat and have no problem continuing the lifestyle. Some days getting to that 1200+ calories is a challenge but you gotta do it or weight loss will be harder on your system. I watched my calories the first two cycles and did well, then i stopped watching. the next three cycles i wasn't watching my calories and i lost nothing, once i started watching them again i started losing.
    Good luck to you!!!

I tried it and honestly for me it was horrible. Very boring, stuck to it 100% for about 5 weeks and only lost 3 pounds and become so constipated that I literally was ill. Just not for me and I am a fan of lower carb diets however this one did not agree with me at all!
