Hey everyone. I always find snacking my downfall, especially late at night or when i'm feeling depressed/stressed. Has anyone got any tips/advice on how to avoid comfort eating and doing something else? I find sometimes if i have a bath or pamper myself than can help x

That's an issue for me so i eat around 530-6pm and then save a lot of my snacks till after dinner. Fiber one, rice cakes, cheese etc...0

I usually go to bed early! lol0

I totally relate, this also is my downfall. I used to eat crisps, chocolate etc etc at night (and lots of it!), but now when I have to snack I snack on snackajack rice cakes, shape desserts etc. Finding that this is really really helping and I don't feel mega guilty and am keeping on losing weight. Keep counting the calories tho! Just discovered this app and website, amazing! Hope this helps....0

Ive tried halving my snacks, eating fruit, going and doing something else, clean your teeth / mouthwash, check facebook or MFP (lol)
AND ultimately ask yourself 'am I actually hungry'....its probably boredom you are feeding, at least thats my excuse!0 -
For me, if I don't have the stuff I really like (chips), I'm ok. I can drink water, or have a couple of crackers and read the posts on MFP and not snack.0

i use some healthy snacks these days in portions, it helps me a lot to get through the day, my choices are unsalted cashew, peanuts(dry roasted, unsalted),figs, raisins, mango slices. e,t,c or if i want something crunchy i have half cup special k without milk0

I have binged my way through my house and now I officially have nothing left to tempt me everything requires some form of prep!
a good tip I read yesterday was eat - turning off the TV and with all the lights on - it feels like people are watching so you eat less?? not tried it yet but a good idea0 -
• Drink a liter or two of water
• Drink a hot drink like boiling water, tea, coffee, herbal tea etc
• Drink a lot of fizzy diet soda
• Pick a safe and low cal food like blueberries, broccoli, baby spinach, pickles etc and eat it nonstop for half an hour. Even better, take a sip of water in between if you can.
• Write a list of your goals and the steps you need to take to get there
• If you are home or able to, look in the mirror and focus on what you have achieved so far/how far you still need to go (which ever helps you more!)
• Look at pictures of people who have the type of body that you would like to achieve
• Brush your teeth (floss, brush, rinse with mouth wash)
• Eat some sugar free gum or mints
• Take a shower or bath
• Work out
• Read a book
• Go for a walk
• Call a friend
• Take a nap
• Give yourself a facial/manicure/pedicure/straighten your hair... etc
• Watch a movie
• Walk around the block
• Sabotage your food. Put on too much salt, too much pepper or make it completely inedible and then make yourself take a bite0 -
GUM! I seriously have 5 different flavors on my coffee table! Kind of crazy, I know! haha That and drinking LOTS of water or tea. Or if I feel I'm being tempted too much at night I'll go to my room and slip into bed earlier than usual .0
