Mediterranean Food

I have a date tonight and I'm going to a Mediterranean food restaurant. Does anyone have suggestions for healthy stuff that isn't boring and doesn't make me look silly? I want to enjoy my night out but don't want to get trapped in eating something horrible for myself. Any suggestions?

Do you like fish?0

Whole Wheat pita (if avail) filled with hummus, lettuce, black olives, a little feta, tomato. Spinach salad with dressing on the side so you can control the amount.
The stuff that's not good for us is the things they fry in oil.0 -
Try the hummus. It's really good. Greek salad with grilled chicken. Ask for the dressing on the side. A Gyro with lean beef or chicken with taziki on the side. They should have a selection of fish also. Good luck!0

Call ahead and see if they have a nutrition menu or look for a website. Sorry I can't help with the food choices.0

Check online for a menu... a lot of places also have nutrition info there.0

I wanna add something. Forget about looking silly. The person who you're meant to be with is going to accept you for whoever you are, and if that's a guy who wants to be healthier, that's awesome.0

Try the grilled kebabs (usually they have chicken, beef, or shrimp) with a Greek salad (dressing on side if possible), and some rice.0

Go for the fish with sauce on the side, with salad or veggies
or pasta with a tomato based sauce
Some chicken dishes are do-able too.
Just dont go for anything in a creamy sauce, or deep fried, or smothered in cheese.
Enjoy your night, and get an extra good workout in tomorrow ;o)0 -
Chicken kebabs ( depends what type of Mediterranean place you go to though) Spanish Tapas for example is quite different from food you get in Greek / Turkish restauants.
Opt for lean meat or fish - if you go for any sauce make sure it's tomato based and not creamy. Drink water, have a salad to start, share a dessert [if you are having all 3 courses that is] go easy on the wine!
Have fun!0
