Do you ever just feel...

Do you ever feel that even though the #s keep dropping on the scale sometimes it feels too good to be true? Or that the scale is wrong? Guess I'm just having a unmotivated day... The scale says I'm down 13 pounds and clothes are getting very loose, etc, but last night I was looking in the mirror and in my mind, I just can't see where the weight came from? Like when I look at myself, I still see the person I was when I was 13 pounds heavier... And that it's just a mind-trick...
I feel so inspired by all of you who are working hard and have been doing this for a long time. It's only been 6 weeks for me and I need to keep that in perspective, that time will bring more weight loss and hopefully more ways I can "see" it.

Congrats on your great loss so far!!
I felt the same way in the beginning - a great trick is to compare before and "so far" pictures of yourself When we look in the mirror at our faces and bodies day after day, the subtle changes aren't so obvious but when you look at those pictures you may see that chin is smaller or your collar bone sticks out more, etc..
Could also be that you carry your weight so evenly that 13 pounds just isn't enough to show a big difference yet. Don't be discouraged! Just keep up the great work and trust me, you'll get there!0 -
I just started so I can't totally relate. I do know that when I see people who weigh the same as I do I think to myself I don't look like that...IDK if they carrey the weight different but it is way frustrating because I don't understand why I can't see my body in that light0

Just remember that if you lose the weight extra fast, then it will most likely return later. Always remember that YOU ARE WORTH THE TROUBLE.0

I kinda feel that way about all my workouts....kinda like the calories burned are not real or that there's no way that I've burned so much...lol....I sound a bit crazy eh? I think for me it's in part due to trying to eat my exercise calories back. I don't really believe I have that much to eat.
Just call me the crazy cat lady without the cat!0 -
have you still got any clothes that were tight? if you have put them on and you will see the differance!0

i know exactly where you're coming from! i don't think i started to be able to notice until i lost around 40lbs, and even then, i had to look back at older pictures to be able to tell. then again, I also weighed a heck of a lot, so 40lbs was barely a dent!
i sometimes find myself thinking 0 calorie foods are too good to be true, but i still eat them all the time, so hopefully they're not!0 -
Just think-your body distributes fat EVERYWHERE. I teach science and have a five pound model of "fat". It basically looks like what they would suck out with lipo and put in a container 14" x 5" around, then let it gel. Whenever I feel like I am not losing, I think of that model and how my body distributes it around. I also think of how my students always say "gross!" Whenever five pounds come off, my body just got rid of a "model"! Keep it up! I like the idea of before and "so far" pictures. 13 lbs. is great!0

Holy ****! You just inspired me! Your weight loss is amazing and you look great! Keep it up!0 -
Thanks everyone for your posts, I wish I would've taken some pictures for the sake of "before" but I didn't. I'll just have to use the everyday pictures that I have from before I started this new lease on life.
My "old" clothes are pretty loose. I'm actually down 2 pant sizes (wahoo) and the old clothes feel huge - mostly in the bottoms - although I think my arms a little smaller. But again, it's like, well maybe it's something else.
It's good to know that I'm not alone I love this site and all the motivation it provides!
Feel free to friend me if you like, I'm all about the support (giving and receiving!!)

I think we all have those days. Where we just don't feel like we're moving forward, even though we truly are. I know you can see it in the reduction in your glucose numbers!! And girl, if you're down 2 pants sizes, that is quite an accomplishment!!!! Just keep at it. Before you know it, you'll be another two sizes smaller! You should take some current photos of yourself. Keep pushing at it and in a few weeks, take some more pics and compare the two. You'll be amazed! i know I was. You should also take some measurements. I finally did it on June 3rd and I can't WAIT until July 3rd to see what (if any) difference there is. YOU CAN DO IT!!!! :-)

I am down 30 pounds and there are parts of me that I feel the same way about. I can see a change in my face, but the rest of has not changed at least thats how I feel. Its very discouraging sometimes.0
