Shaky walking

Ok, so: I'm type I diabetic. I feel like my blood sugar is low but it isn't. I'm shaky and when I walk my legs feel like they are not going to function properly, I'm worried I'm going to fall over. It comes in waves but has been more and more frequent. I didn't work out or anything so it's not muscle fatigue. My Dr. said that maybe 'not low' is still too low for me, but if anything it's high (195) so I know that's not it. The internet has been rather unhelpful. Any ideas?

Could be unrelated to your diabetes. How is your blood pressure?0

I was thinking blood pressure, too. Or maybe caloric intake. Maybe you haven't had enough calories? Or it could just be an inner ear infection.0

Maybe? My blood pressure is pretty low, generally, but since low blood pressure is a constant, wouldn't that make the shakiness a constant too? And I don't think calories--I often don't eat till around now, and had a big dinner. I tried eating something, though, and am hoping that that is all it is?0

Blood pressure and/or anemia come to mind. You get that weak feeling... Ask your doc to check for anemia, maybe start getting more iron just in case.0

Oh I am borderline anemic! hmmm....I'll have to start being better about my multivitamin and maybe that will help?0

Hi there. T1 here also.....195 is a bit high, so I don't think it is the DM. I like the b/p and anemia suggestions. Also, can you be just plain tired? Or possibly stressed more than normal? Also....are your drinking enough water? All things to consider.0

I am borderline anemic too, and also have a tendency toward low blood pressure. I get weak when I haven't eaten in awhile. Are you experiencing the shaking from standing? My daughter has low blood pressure too and it actually mimics a valve prolapse if she stands too quickly or exercises without warming up. It's called an innocent heart murmur. It's not dangerous but she experiences the same symptoms as people with a valve prolapse and/or heart murmur.0
