I would like running advice please...I have 6 weeks to my 10k...i'm really nervous!...wondering how many runs and how far i should be doing a week? I thought tue/thu/sat 2x 5k and 1 x 10k...I'm not fast .... aiming for under 1 hr 30mins......will that do? (and i also will do a pump fx class (1hr weights class)...which killed me on sunday and i can only just move my arms far enough back to fasten my bra! but i am determined to go back on sunday! Nutter!!!)

Thanks

You can start Couch to 5 K but you will probably have to double up on the runs for that day to train in time.

Best of luck, I'm aiming for a 10k in January and training with C25K then the next on, Couch to 10K (C2-10K).

Take a look at Hal Higdon's novice 10K training program. It's a 10 week deal, but it works! You may be able to pick up during week 6? I don't know but look it up online. GOOD LUCK! I'm sure you'll do great.

sounds like you are on the right track to me! I wouldn't increase your mileage more than 1 mile each week for your long run. and pump classes are great, try to go twice a week if possible. even if you are using extreme light weight the second time because you are sore. keep it up!!

I followed Hal H's "beginner 10K training schedule" and it was completely do-able! I finished my first in 72 minutes with a lot of walking because it was a million degrees outside, but I finished it!

Aim to run 3 times a week and do some cross training. Make sure you run a full 10k by about 3 weeks before the race, and don't train in the last week. Just go for a couple of short (6 km ish) runs maybe 5 and 3 days before the race, then rest for the last 3 days.
