subway silliness

I ate at subway today, and because I wanted to have something a bit lighter for a meal calorie-wise, I got the veggie delite wrap instead of the veggie delite 6 inch sub.

Then when I got home, found out the tortilla for the wrap is 310 calories, as opposed to 220 for bread. Crazy!

It's not the end of the world, it's just weird. Especially since you can get a tortilla at the store for the same size that's 210 calories. So why is subway tortilla 100 calories more for the same size? Fishy....

Goes to show, perception throws us off.

i've learned that alot of times wraps are lower in carbs but not so much in calories, at least the ones at restaurants, i buy ones that are only like 90 calories at the store so who knows why they can't use lower cal ones at restaurants

Really? I've been logging my wraps from what's in the database here and they have a turkey breast and ham wrap for something like 280 calories . . . if that's not accurate it'd be good to know!!

I have discovered that on here, loffing is mostly correct, but when the product goes to the subway, sometimes, flavors and grease are added. And they do not uise the natural meats, they nuke it all as well and the meat in the containers may have added preservatives,

But sub way is a bit healthier then others....

Ya know Journey, that is what I really like about this site. We LEARN, then dont have to repeat the mistake.

I bought these beautiful tomato basil wraps, that I assumed were sooooooo good for me. I made a wonderful tuna wrap, and then went to log in ##^@%@& 300 calories and 10 grams of fat?? It said 'low fat' on the wrapper.

That is when I started reading the nutrition info, asking the deli clerk for labels on the meats/cheeses, asking the waitress to find out what they put on my food.

I am paying for it in more ways than one, I have a right to know.

Thanks for the new info. I will keep for my whole wheat 6" with veggies and vinegar!!:flowerforyou:
