Need some major help with my food choices!

Hey guys!
I've been determined to lose weight and I found out my downfall is really my eating. So I went in hard core and am finding myself with 2 problems. I hate the taste and I am often under calories.
I tried to do a low fat diet so a typical lunch would be:
2 Slices Whole Wheat Bread (120 Calories/slice)
2 Slices Ham (45 calories for 6 slices)
1 Slice Fat Free Cheese (35 Calories)
1/2 Cup Strawberries (45 cal)
1/2 Cup Carrots (30 cal)
The taste doesn't appeal to me, I think it is the cheese. I also try and make pasta (whole wheat pasta with low fat alfredo) and a grilled chicken salad with fat free ranch. I found the chicken to be bland, so I wonder what I could do to make it tastier?
The food that I eat is so unsatisfying taste wise that I am constantly tempted to cheat on my diet and have a nice big burger or slice of pizza. What are somethings to mix it up?
ps I love (and refuse to give up) my carbs, but I switched to whole grain only and I think it makes a difference.
